Portsmouth Wedding Photography and Elopements by Eric McCallister, of New Hampshire

I’m an NH wedding and elopement photographer with a photojournalistic approach to documenting wedding days and elopements, with a contemporary take on wedding portraiture. I began my photography career shooting rock climbers scaling cliffs throughout the U.S. By combining my passion for adventure with my love of art and design, I very quickly became obsessed with creating images that were not only “pretty” but conveyed a sense of “being there” and of the emotions felt by my subjects. Seeing and capturing fleeting moments from behind a lens proved to be a powerful addiction, which led me to wedding photography. On the wedding day, I strive to create images of a couple that show the spectrum of emotions felt on one of the most important days of their lives. I have been photographing weddings in New England since 2003. I photographed my first wedding on my own in the Fall of 2008. Ten years later, I have photographed over 350 weddings, mostly in New England, but as far away as Wyoming, New Orleans and the Cayman Islands. I currently photograph approximately 30 weddings per year, which allows me to focus on providing great service to each and every client. [Portsmouth Wedding Photographer]

Massachusetts and Boston wedding and elopement photography by Simi Rabinowitz

Knowing that a split second of time I capture with my camera can turn into an image cherished by generations. This is what excites me about being a wedding photographer and motivates me to continuously hone my skills and my vision. I love stunning natural light and pure, raw emotion. I love simple, clean compositions and bright, intense colors. I love shooting the big moments of the wedding day and the seemingly quieter ones – to me they are equally important and it is often when I look beyond the obvious that I am able to create the best pictures. I take an unobtrusive approach to my photography, allowing everything in front of my lens to happen naturally and my goal is to create images that tell the beautiful and unique story of your special event. I live in Somerville, Massachusetts with my wife and 2 children, am an award-winning member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), and have had my work featured in The Knot Boston and Gala Weddings. I may be a little bit geeky, and my wife describes me as an "infuriatingly positive person". I am smitten with rock climbing, science fiction, surfing, travel, and being invited into the inner circle of a family on a wedding day. I am one of the only wedding photographers in the world shooting entirely on the highest end camera system and lenses in the world, the Leica. I am a hopeless romantic and thrive on the intricacies of a wedding day. My own wedding was the most overwhelming (fun!) experience of my life, and I treat every celebration with that gravity. I will tell the story of your day with sensitivity, artfulness, and attention to every detail. I work in a photojournalistic, candid and unobtrusive style throughout the day (apart of when we are making portraits or family formals). [Boston Wedding Photographer]

While some of us were fortunate enough to be born as extroverts, not everyone feels the same way. For a good chunk of the population, any number of the typical wedding day traditions can inspire anxiety and existential dread. This day is all about you, yes, but does that mean all the attention has to be on you as well? FROM VOWS TO CHITCHAT, WHICH REMAINS SACRED? Traditional weddings often require some degree of performance on the part of the couple, whether that is in the form of reciting...Read more

Some couples, as they begin planning for their weddings, might think that they are limited to the classic locations: churches, gardens, beaches, or even Las Vegas. But in doing so they’re missing out on a multitude of unique options that might suit their personalities much better! Why limit yourself to a quiet, quaint ceremony when your adventurous heart may be calling out for something more? An entirely different genre of wedding, so to speak, is the adventure wedding elopement. This concept...Read more
Traditionally speaking, often times it is the couple’s families who help pay for their wedding. However, unfortunately that’s just not possible for everyone, especially these days when the cost of weddings can quickly and easily get out of control. Some couples find themselves in the position of paying for all of their own wedding expenses, which can be quite the financial burden to take on, and about 40% of Millennials end up in this boat. So, how can you stick to your allotted...Read more
WHAT EXACTLY DOES IT MEAN TO ELOPE? If you look up the definition of “elope” in the Merriam-Webster dictionary , you’ll find a plethora of meanings making it quite clear how polarizing the word has become, and how it has transformed and evolved with the passage of time and even personal preference.Read more

Everyone always says that your wedding day is all about you. But let’s face it; that’s not always actually the case. Many couples stress over guest lists, planning, expenses, and all the frills and traditions of your standard large wedding that they may or may not even be interested in. Fortunately, though, the concept of small weddings is becoming increasingly popular for couples who either want to be able to completely customize their day where and when they want with the option...Read more
While some people live for the hustle and bustle of a big wedding with extravagant décor and an impossibly long guest list, others find these kinds of weddings to be too much hoopla, preferring instead something simpler and quieter, allowing for more intimacy between them and their fiancés on this special day. So how do you infuse your wedding with all the romance but none of the fuss? ALONE AT LAST Many couples these days are opting to elope rather than planning a large wedding. For the no-...Read more
