We are anxious to create a picture story chronicling your outdoor, boutique, non-traditional, small wedding from beginning to end. In this sense, it is no different from any other event that we have covered. The emphasis is on documenting key moments, capturing spontaneous displays of emotion, telling your real love story, as well as creating artistic portraits and details.

8 Documentary Wedding Photographers...
Hello there! Welcome to Dennis Crider Photography. I am a wedding documentary-styled photographer in Cleveland Ohio but open to destination weddings around the world. Weddings have been a tradition for centuries in every culture. Your photographer shouldn't be so traditional. I know each wedding is different because YOU are different. You want something tailored to show your personality and style. That's what I do. I document your story and your family/friends. Not the traditional style of pictures you receive from the "Guy with a camera selling his services for next to nothing". Q: What influences me to capture those tender yet fun moments? A: To make each wedding I do, better than the last one. Q: How many weddings do you shoot per year on average? 18 Q: What photography internships or apprenticeships have contributed to your training/education? A: Obsession with America's best and what makes them the best. Q: What other photography interests do you have besides shooting weddings? A: Shooting for 5 years, besides hanging out with my 2 kids and my wife, this is it. This is my passion. Q: What makes you stand out above the crowd of photographers: A: a chair to stand on. If no chair, I jump really high. I want to go beyond good and be original with style. It's a passion to capture the best non-fake, unscripted and organic moments of your day that showcases your wedding. Not to recreate the 100 other previous weddings. [Cleveland Wedding Photographer]
I’m a photographer, dreamer, classically trained pianist, and natural born creative. I’m a recycler and do my best to live within my means. I’m a college graduate who paid way too much for a degree. Dated for 6 months, engaged for 6 more and been married for over 15 years to one of the most compassionate women you’ll ever meet. I’m a father of two incredibly inventive kids who can build you a home out of cardboard or at the very least a kick-ass Ironman suit. I get genuinely excited about all the possibilities that come from collaborating with my clients. I have a relaxed and easy demeanor and have often been described as an, “Island of calm in sea of chaos.” I love new technologies, slightly obsessed with spicy foods, and thrive on creativity. More importantly, my most treasured possession is my family. [Columbus Wedding Photographer]
As a documentary-style photographer, I love to emphasize connection, texture, and authentic emotion. Being a former actor who found a deep love and passion for wedding photography, I'm most drawn to the art of storytelling while creating honest and original work. I strive to make my images fully represent my couples in every way possible. From smaller, unconventional elopements to traditional full-day events, I love to capture everything from the big kiss to the secret "I love you's" shared in a whisper. [Chicago Wedding Photographer]
Hi! I’m always ready for an adventure and I love running around in the wild with my couples, dresses that aren't always perfect, and giving couples the space to take in as many moments of their wedding as possible. My photography background takes me from starting out as a photojournalist for a newspaper in Ohio, to being the second photographer to an incredible wedding team in San Diego, all the way to starting my own photography business here in New Hampshire. I’ve driven all across the US many times, calling a bunch of those spots home and combined with my life experiences, my work is heavily influenced by the person that I’ve become out of it. In addition to the celebrations in life, it’s also the heartaches that helped me realize just how important capturing how a moment feels will impact your appreciation of the images delivered. Therefore, I work to get to know you two and use my years of experience to anticipate and embolden moments so I can capture all those genuine smiles, tears, and healthy doses of nervous anticipation. Professionally I’ve had wedding features published in print magazines like Seacoast Weddings, Southern New England Weddings – Destination Edition, and New Hampshire Bride along with a wide variety of blogs and online publications, I've been featured as the resident artist at a local art show, a finalist in a worldwide photography competition, chosen as the third-ranked photographer in my state, as well as being chosen as a top photographer in NH to watch in a nationwide report. [New Hampshire Wedding Photographer]
The documentary-style allows my couples to get "behind the scenes" of their own wedding. I enrolled in college as a young artist where I learned how to create and critique art, which would later become the foundation for my photography career. After graduating in 2008, I took an internship as a photojournalist at The Valley News Dispatch--now known as Trib Total Media--where I fell in love with visual storytelling and the year I shot my first wedding. I spent 8 years working for the newspapers—during the week I was shooting assignments full-time and shooting weddings on my weekends. In 2015, I decided to focus 100% of my energy on weddings. I took what I loved most about photojournalism and carried it to my wedding photography. My appreciation for art taught me composition and awareness of light, and the skills I developed as a photojournalist trained me to document candid moments with ease. I combine these elements in fun ways to help you relax in front of the camera and capture your personality, not poses. I reside in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania in Butler County but I am willing to travel to document your milestone event, whatever or wherever it may be. PS: I do not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. Hey there, I'm Carrie Pratt, the owner and principal photographer of Simply Blue Studios. I work out of both Tampa Bay, Florida, as well as Bowling Green, Kentucky. My specialty is creative documentary photography, weaving moments into my images that are iconic symbols of the day. With a background in photojournalism, I am a storyteller at heart and have been recognized internationally for my work. I am dedicated to giving couples the best experience, pleasing their loved ones, and bringing a smile to their faces throughout the day. From large country club celebrations to intimate back yard ceremonies, I love telling stories. [Tampa Wedding Photographer]
Michelle Peters began focusing on her multiple creativities at a young age, but did not get involved in the photography area until a pro photojournalist offered her a mentorship, after she finished her education at the Pennsylvania State University. She was guided into Wedding Photojournalism and loves to capture all the moments of your special day, while maintaining an unobtrusive view. Although she still likes to hide in her 'secret studio' and shoot macro, her joy is now shooting the joy of your wedding day! [State College Wedding Photographer]
Personally, I love music as one of my main passions outside of photography. I grew up playing percussion in all sorts of different bands ranging from jazz to rock to a classical orchestra and now I’m mostly just exploring new music to stream every day. I ended up going to school for multimedia arts which also included photography and video, and I really found my passion with photography while traveling in Europe in 1994 and then again with friends in 2000, using every roll of film that I brought with me each time. I like to listen to Def Leppard while I edit weddings. My favorite goodies from the cookie table are buckeyes. After focusing on commercial and editorial photography for close to five years, I started documenting weddings in 2004 and made it one of my main focuses by 2005. I enjoy photography and art that's sometimes called "wabi sabi", a Japanese expression that refers to art that aims to record and emphasize the inherent beauty in any given space. This philosophy and method both seek to transcend symbolic and literal ways of seeing. When combining this state-of-mind with visual storytelling, portraits and details can show something.
