Elopement Photographers for Small Ohio Weddings

Shooting an elopement or small Cleveland wedding event is a wedding photojournalist’s dream: a fairly open schedule with lots of breathing space for creativity – it’s just the photographer, the couple, the officiant, and perhaps a few select companions.

Members are ready to document any justice of the peace, themed, town hall, or elopement wedding, even if it is a Monday-Thursday ceremony. Search for the “Can Shoot Weddings on Short Notice!” message on the listings below.

We are anxious to create a picture story chronicling your symbolic, boutique, non-traditional, small wedding from beginning to end. In this sense, it is no different from any other event that we have covered. The emphasis is on documenting key moments, capturing spontaneous displays of emotion, telling your real love story, as well as creating artistic portraits and details.

Cleveland, OH Wedding and Elopement Photographer Dennis Crider

Hello there! Welcome to Dennis Crider Photography. I am a wedding documentary-styled photographer in Cleveland Ohio but open to destination weddings around the world. Weddings have been a tradition for centuries in every culture. Your photographer shouldn't be so traditional. I know each wedding is different because YOU are different. You want something tailored to show your personality and style. That's what I do. I document your story and your family/friends. Not the traditional style of pictures you receive from the "Guy with a camera selling his services for next to nothing". Q: What influences me to capture those tender yet fun moments? A: To make each wedding I do, better than the last one. Q: How many weddings do you shoot per year on average? 18 Q: What photography internships or apprenticeships have contributed to your training/education? A: Obsession with America's best and what makes them the best. Q: What other photography interests do you have besides shooting weddings? A: Shooting for 5 years, besides hanging out with my 2 kids and my wife, this is it. This is my passion. Q: What makes you stand out above the crowd of photographers: A: a chair to stand on. If no chair, I jump really high. I want to go beyond good and be original with style. It's a passion to capture the best non-fake, unscripted and organic moments of your day that showcases your wedding. Not to recreate the 100 other previous weddings. [Cleveland Wedding Photographer]

...and I am a wedding photojournalist. This means that I specialize in candid (also called documentary style or simply unposed) photography. I enrolled in college as a young artist where I learned how to create and critique art, which would later become the foundation for my photography career. After graduating in 2008, I took an internship as a photojournalist at The Valley News Dispatch--now known as Trib Total Media--where I fell in love with visual storytelling and the year I shot my first wedding. I spent 8 years working for the newspapers—during the week I was shooting assignments full-time and shooting weddings on my weekends. In 2015, I decided to focus 100% of my energy on weddings. I took what I loved most about photojournalism and carried it to my wedding photography. My appreciation for art taught me composition and awareness to light, and the skills I developed as a photojournalist trained me to document candid moments with ease. I combine these elements in fun ways to help you relax in front of the camera and capture your personality, not poses. In addition to beautiful candid (and a few posed) portraits of yourselves, I also look for the little moments to tell the story of your day. Whether that is a photo of your flower girls giggling in the back of the church, detail shots of macaroni art hanging on your fridge from your in-home lifestyle family session, or a candid portrait of yourself with a huge laugh with nose wrinkles from your high school senior session. I reside in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania in Butler County but I am willing to travel to document your milestone event, whatever or wherever it may be. Be sure to check out my blog (linked here) to view my most recent work. Feel free to add me on social media as well! I love getting to know my clients on a personal level. PS: I do not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. I’m a photographer, dreamer, classically trained pianist, and natural born creative. I’m a recycler and do my best to live within my means. I’m a college graduate who paid way too much for a degree. Dated for 6 months, engaged for 6 more and been married for over 15 years to one of the most compassionate women you’ll ever meet. I’m a father of two incredibly inventive kids who can build you a home out of cardboard or at the very least a kick-ass Ironman suit. I get genuinely excited about all the possibilities that come from collaborating with my clients. I have a relaxed and easy demeanor and have often been described as an, “Island of calm in sea of chaos.” I love new technologies, slightly obsessed with spicy foods, and thrive on creativity. More importantly, my most treasured possession is my family. [Columbus Wedding Photographer]

Some couples, as they begin planning for their weddings, might think that they are limited to the classic locations: churches, gardens, beaches, or even Las Vegas. But in doing so they’re missing out on a multitude of unique options that might suit their personalities much better! Why limit yourself to a quiet, quaint ceremony when your adventurous heart may be calling out for something more? An entirely different genre of wedding, so to speak, is the adventure wedding elopement. This concept...Read more
So your wedding is just around the corner and you’ve decided to elope , either because you want to do this on a budget , avoid a large wedding party, or simply to enjoy the day together with minimal distractions and as little stress as possible . They say 'all you need is love', but where exactly can you afford to trim the fat, so to speak? You want simplicity, but you also want to be properly married and, surely, to remember this occasion. Who, then, could be more important than...Read more
WHAT EXACTLY DOES IT MEAN TO ELOPE? We all know that the economy can go through some hard times, and be somewhat reminiscent of past recessions. However, as people cut back on non-essential little luxuries here and there, one constant remains: weddings. People don’t tend to just stop getting married due to a poor economy, nor should they! So, in an industry that keeps on going through thick and thin, what are some things to expect for the future, and what is really necessary to still make that wedding day memorable and...Read more
It’s no secret that these are strange times we’re going through right now, and there are many couples out there with weddings set in the near future who are left feeling uncertain and concerned about their futures. While that’s understandable, it’s also important to remember the reason you’re getting married in the first place; not for the grand celebration, but because you love each other and want to be together. REMEMBER WHAT'S IMPORTANT You’re in this position now, about to get married, for...Read more
Not everyone has a lagoon or glacier next door, but there's no rule saying you can't have a small wedding in the great outdoors. Take advantage of natural sunshine and that open, airy feeling and give your guests some room to breathe! LESS IS MORE Instead of hemming your guests in on all sides, give them some elbow room, and legroom, too. There's no need to induce claustrophobia when you've got a wide, open space. Let your guests take in the view, especially if you've got a spectacular one. You...Read more
