Aidan Dockery, wedding photographer in Bangkok Thailand

South East Asia is where I call home, having lived in Thailand & Vietnam for 15 years years. Currently based in Bangkok, destination weddings take me all over Southeast Asia. With a love for photography & traveling, meeting people & celebrations, destination weddings was a natural choice. My style of wedding photography is best described as creative reportage with contemporary portraiture. I like to remain inconspicuous as I wait in anticipation for the events to unfold; ensuring that the images captured remain realistic and natural looking. I have a degree in Photography and have covered live music concerts, major sporting events, luxury hotels and documented for charities and NGO's. During my time as a wedding photographer, I have been very fortunate to photograph weddings for a TV presenter, a Miss Universe model, a Prime Minister's Daughter and perhaps the biggest compliment of all, another wedding photographers wedding! Wedding Photograph taken as bridesmaids see bride in her dress for the first time and showing their reactions
To document the best moments of a wedding day, a photographer shouldn’t only focus on the bride and groom , or even on the main event. "Reaction shots," which record the reactions of guests observing the wedding’s activities as they occur, add an invaluable dimension to the visual record of the festivities. “I was constantly given a gentle reminder to look beyond the obvious action while covering sports assignments while on staff at The Hartford Courant newspaper,...Read more
Photo of the Bride & Groom with the guests caught in the rain running for cover.
You will be told some traditions — Hindu, Maltese — consider rain a good omen on a wedding day. You will be told a wet knot is harder to untie. You may — correctly — think that if the two of you can face the day's elements with aplomb and grace, you're more likely to face life's challenges with strength and flexibility. The truth is, you can plan for the possibility of rain on your wedding day . (If it's an outdoor wedding and depending on the climate, in...Read more

A wedding is a special event for all involved, and children are no exception. With little boys suiting up in tuxedos and young girls stepping into gowns layered in satin and lace, it’s a milestone for your smallest guests as well. It’s that rare occasion when they receive a glimpse into the adult world in all its ceremonial splendor. But in the thick of wedding planning, many brides and grooms often forget the little ones. Well, you need not be one of the forgetful. With a bit of...Read more
Philippe Swiggers, of , is a wedding photographer for Puglia
While wedding party stereotypes still exist, most people realize there’s more to being a bridesmaid than looking beautiful, more to being a groomsman than adding life and excitement to the reception party. But even the bride and groom might not fully understand just how helpful these roles can be, long after the train is bustled and the speeches are given. With a little direction (and not that much effort), members of the wedding party can facilitate great wedding photojournalism —a favor that...Read more
Denis Gostev, of New York, is a wedding photographer for St. Francis Xavier Church
You can argue that of all the photos on your wedding day, the ones taken during the ceremony are the most meaningful—that’s why you’re there, right? It’s ironic, then, that wedding photojournalists regularly have the most trouble shooting their best work in the churches where these very ceremonies take place. Often times, significant moments unfold in front of camera lenses that are too far away, positioned at awkward angles, and photographers are forced to operate under...Read more

The start of the great divide between the sexes can be witnessed a lot earlier in life than most believe. Girls and boys participating in weddings around the world demonstrate this time and time again. Frequently, little girls will relish the opportunity to dress up in their finest, while the boys do so begrudgingly, kicking and screaming all the way to the altar, so to speak. However, it doesn’t take long before that divide is bridged, and children are children again, with neither girls nor...Read more
