One of my favorite images of the day was this moment between the bride and her mom who has since passed away.
The couple decided on a very impromptu elopement wedding close to the town where they both grew up and first met many, many years ago. One of the main reasons for the quick wedding was that all their family from abroad coincidentally were in South Africa at the time. The second main reason was that the bride's mom was diagnosed with brain cancer and they wanted to share this beautiful day with her and those dearest to them. As a photographer, I still get tears in my eyes and Goosebumps when I view these precious moments!

The bride making sure to get eye contact with her cheers to avoid superstition. It created a very comical moment. She was just a joy from start to finish and we had so much fun throughout the day. Not once did she complain or did her broad smile fade.

The bride and her sister (all the way from the US), shares a comical moment while trying to get her dress on.

The dress came with a lot of drama as the first dress was a disaster and this dress was custom made within days! I therefor decided to create a dramatic bridal portrait that feature the dress.

The bride struggles a bit to put the ring on the groom's finger during the ceremony. I love the little tongue that shows her struggle and personality.
The ceremony was emotional, and I loved the moments between the bride and her mom - something I cherish now as her mom passed after the wedding.

Finally, the first kiss as husband and wife! I love the guests' reaction and the little peck the couple creates.

Just and intimate moment the couple shares as husband and wife. To me these little imperfections makes for perfection.

Layers of happiness and pure joy. There may not have been a lot of guests at this wedding, but there were a lot of laughter and joy.

The couple's personality did not lean towards 'formal' or very posed bridal portraits. So we did what came naturally - this was a spontaneous first dance the couple did on the beach during their portrait session and it captures the couple's personalities perfectly.
