Canadian wedding photographer Jessica Schlamp - for British Columbia and Kelowna couples.

Hi! I am a wedding photographer based in Kelowna, in the gorgeous Okanagan Valley of Canada. I've been photographing weddings professionally since 2010. I love learning about people - their personalities, relationships, values, dreams and unique journey - then capturing this in my photography, creating dynamic story telling imagery. I'm always thinking of where that photo will be in 50 years, who it might impact and how the viewer will connect emotionally with my work. I now photograph between 25-30 weddings a year with my husband Andy. Together we are able to accomplish some pretty incredible things, and have poured our hearts into constant growth and the mastery of light. I constantly strive to take my work to the next level, using the highest quality cameras, lenses and strobe lighting to compose beautiful works of art that captivate people's imaginations and senses. As long as I can remember I've been creating, working hard, and dreaming big. I love to construct, creating extraordinary out of the everyday. Most of all I love to connect with individuals, encouraging or inspiring them in some way with every encounter. I bring all these skills to our photography business. They have laid a firm foundation for all that I do as a professional photographer. My photographs have been featured in numerous print and online magazines and blogs. As Jessica and Andy Studios grows I hope to positively impact my community and the lives of my family and others, as a direct byproduct of our work. It is an incredible honor to document each wedding and to produce images that will become my client's most precious heirlooms. As a wife and a mother to 3 beautiful kids, I know how priceless great photos are. They are a valuable investment worth far more than gold. I would love to be your photographer! International documentary wedding photographer Jennifer Tai - Seattle, Washington

My big foray into professional photography began with moving to the US from Malaysia with my husband in 2006 and our two kids. Having worked as a reporter and eventually an editor for 12 years in the business and tech industry, I didn't want to go back to the publishing world since I was going to be a stay-at-home mom. With my training in event and product photography as well as story-telling, I started with some family portraiture and eventually moved into weddings. I discovered that it contained the same energy as journalism and the flexible schedule was ideal for our situation. A decade later, I still feel the same energy and love for weddings and portraits. The drama, the celebration, the big production for just one day - it's a great gig. If you vibe with my work, I'd love to chat more! [Seattle Wedding Photographer]

Photo of the Bride & Groom with the guests caught in the rain running for cover.
You will be told some traditions — Hindu, Maltese — consider rain a good omen on a wedding day. You will be told a wet knot is harder to untie. You may — correctly — think that if the two of you can face the day's elements with aplomb and grace, you're more likely to face life's challenges with strength and flexibility. The truth is, you can plan for the possibility of rain on your wedding day . (If it's an outdoor wedding and depending on the climate, in...Read more
Wedding Photographer captures quite moment as the bridesmaid looks timidly out before entering the scene
Weddings can be chaotic, noisy affairs where emotions are displayed publicly, so one of your biggest challenges that day can be capturing that quiet, intimate side. Trust, anticipation, skilled observation, savvy lens selection and a host of other judgments make it possible to bag those poignant moments in images that recall the day for those in attendance, and reveal a story for those who were not. It is all part of the unique value proposition that our members bring to wedding photojournalism.Read more
Show Shutter Wedding Day Photography - Groom dancing at the wedding reception with some blur
Dragging the shutter is a basic photographic technique that is often put to highly creative use by the best wedding photojournalists. Whether depicting the bride mid-whir during a dance, or documenting a child bounding down the aisle at the church, dragging the shutter helps produce images that contain a sense of motion and bring an added dose of festivity to what, for some, already feels like a whirlwind day. When photographers “drag” the shutter by slowing down its speed, they...Read more
Sybil Rondeau, of , is a wedding photographer for Domaine des Forges
While you may have picked out a beautiful, rustic church, a serene outdoor setting, and a posh reception hall as ideal backdrops to your wedding photographs, the shots don't stop there. Remember: The wedding photojournalist's mission is to document the entire day. And one of the often overlooked, and maybe under-appreciated settings for photos during your wedding day occurs while the bride, groom and other members of the wedding party are in a car, limo, party bus or other forms of...Read more
Wedding Photojournalism Beauty Photos of the bride crossing her eyes as she reacts to her dress being buttoned up from behind
The bride steps into her wedding gown. Her mother and a coterie of bridesmaids assist her with the final touches on her hair and makeup. They primp and preen at her gown, perhaps contributing something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Today, the vast majority of brides invite their photographer to document the “getting ready” period, and for good reason. Getting ready can be a monumental task for the bride and her entourage, and an event in itself. It...Read more

A wedding is a special event for all involved, and children are no exception. With little boys suiting up in tuxedos and young girls stepping into gowns layered in satin and lace, it’s a milestone for your smallest guests as well. It’s that rare occasion when they receive a glimpse into the adult world in all its ceremonial splendor. But in the thick of wedding planning, many brides and grooms often forget the little ones. Well, you need not be one of the forgetful. With a bit of...Read more
