Earl McCoy is a wedding photojournalist based in Minneapolis, MN.

My shooting style, compliments my wife's as I am her second shooter. I will typically focus on alternative views or angles. Initially my interest in wedding photography was more about running a small business, but as time goes on, I find myself enjoying the art more and the feeling I get when people enjoy my work. I go out of my way to make sure that I help create a comfortable environment for our client. We shoot about 25 weddings a year and about 20 engagement sessions. [Minneapolis Wedding Photographer]

Devyn Elizabeth Drufke got her start in documenting tornadoes and storms in the northern plains. In 2007, while researching wedding photography after being asked to shoot a wedding, she discovered that wedding photography didn't have to be clichéd and boring. Studying the work of documentary photographers in the UK, she fell in love and photographed 23 weddings in her first 12 months of photography. 250 weddings later, she's still in love with being a part of weddings across the US, photographing with her partner Kristen. Devyn and Kristen's style has been described as emotional and natural; capturing beautiful and candid moments as they happen. Devyn photographs sports and news for Zuma Wire Service, and is in the process of photographing in all of the National Parks in the US. [Minneapolis Wedding Photographer]

Minneapolis, MN wedding photographer Nathan Robinson, of Laura Robinson Photography

Nathan is an ex-Canadian who now happily calls Minnesota home. He is happily married to Laura and they have an adorable daughter and a feisty Pomeranian pup. He grew up all over the world (his dad was a diplomat) and has a twin brother who now lives in England (they look nothing alike!). By day, he works as a senior payroll analyst. By weekend, he is a photo ninja extraordinaire. He is well-known for his coffee and hot sauce addictions, being a sci-fi whiz and creating memes for every occasion. If you feed him sushi, you'll instantly be friends. Someday, he'd love to learn to fly (he LOVES his flight simulator game) and, if given the chance, he would totally take a trip to space. Nathan is the calm, more introverted half of the Laura Robinson Photography team. He is the Associate Photographer, Equipment Manager, and certified Snack Guru. He loves to step back on the wedding day and observe what is happening around him, anticipating the moments and seeing an ordinary scene a bit differently, while also working with Laura to capture and light more complex locations and shots. Together, they photograph an average of 20 weddings per year and dozens of surprise proposals, focusing on a high-level of client service and the creation and delivery of museum-quality heirlooms. Becoming parents changed both Nathan and Laura's perception of the world around them, especially wedding days. Once upon a time, you'd never see this guy cry -- and then he became a dad and suddenly every bride is his daughter, all grown up. He does NOT know how to "speak wedding", still barely knows what a chiavari chair is, and couldn't pin a veil in place to save the day -- that's ok, Laura is the ying to this yang and has all that covered. Nathan is "one of the guys" who is equal parts hanging out and shooting the breeze, and also "you never saw me" ninja. Altogether, a pretty swell dude. [Minneapolis Wedding Photographer]

Denver wedding photography by Shea McGrath of Colorado

Hi! I'm Shea. I'm a wedding photographer that loves photographing weddings all over the beautiful state of Colorado, as well as all over the world! I was born in Denver but moved to the midwest when I was very young. However, I always felt at home when I came to visit Colorado so I knew I would move back here one day. I've been in Colorado for just over three years now and I love everything that this beautiful state has to offer! - FUN FACTS ABOUT ME - In college, I drove from Iowa to Pennsylvania to be an extra in a movie with Matt Damon and John Krasinski. Have you seen "Promised Land"? When I'm not taking pictures you can find me in the mountains hiking or camping! I got married in November to the most wonderful human. I now know what you all are going through and am more understanding than ever when it comes to wedding planning! ;) I backpacked Europe for 3 months after college and ended up living in Spain for a year teaching English afterward! I've always felt like I am more of a dog person, but Jacob and I adopted a cat named Ophelia and I have officially become one of those crazy cat ladies. Every year I travel somewhere new. My most recent trips include Machu Picchu, South Africa, and Ireland. I love traveling and trying new things! This year we are going to Costa Rica! My favorite bands/musicians include Maggie Rogers, Gregory Alan Isakov, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats, The Lumineers, and Johnnyswim I have been vegan for over two years! I've won two contests in my life so far: a coloring contest in 5th grade and a grape stomping contest at the Iowa State Fair! Jacob and I love to swing dance! We started taking lessons last year and had fun swing dancing for our first dance at our wedding in November! I have played piano for 24 years! [Denver Wedding Photographer]

Washington DC Wedding Photography by Anji Martin

As a kid, I always wanted to preserve forever moments that were special to me, such as birthday parties and family Christmases. When I was eight years old, my father made that possible for me by giving me his old camera. From then on, I became the de facto family photographer and started documenting every get-together. I didn't know it at the time, but all that practice ended up preparing me for my career as an adult. That same passion for capturing moments for people has naturally led me to become a wedding photographer. Together with my husband/business partner, I have now been helping couples document their wedding days for several years. We primarily serve brides and grooms in the Washington, DC, area, but are always available to travel for destination weddings. We have lived on five different continents and speak five languages fluently, so it is easy for us to take our passion for photography to exotic wedding locations. Shaunte Dittmar, of California, is a wedding photographer for West Shore Cafe
Picture this: It's mid-summer, with temps in the low-80s, a cloudless sky, and oh-so-light gusts keeping everyone just cool enough. Maybe you're out on a bluff, overlooking the ocean, or in a fragrant, blooming garden. A scene is set for the ideal summer wedding. But—back in reality here—there's no way that six to eight months or more down the road any couple can forecast such pristine conditions for their wedding day. Despite their idealized image, summer weddings can...Read more
A woman holds a little girl's hand while the bride kneels down and smiles at her before the ceremony in this wedding photo | Children photography at weddings.
The start of the great divide between the sexes can be witnessed a lot earlier in life than most believe. Girls and boys participating in weddings around the world demonstrate this time and time again. Frequently, little girls will relish the opportunity to dress up in their finest, while the boys do so begrudgingly, kicking and screaming all the way to the altar, so to speak. However, it doesn’t take long before that divide is bridged, and children are children again, with neither girls nor...Read more

Wedding Photographer captures quite moment as the bridesmaid looks timidly out before entering the scene
Weddings can be chaotic, noisy affairs where emotions are displayed publicly, so one of your biggest challenges that day can be capturing that quiet, intimate side. Trust, anticipation, skilled observation, savvy lens selection and a host of other judgments make it possible to bag those poignant moments in images that recall the day for those in attendance, and reveal a story for those who were not. It is all part of the unique value proposition that our members bring to wedding photojournalism.Read more
Wedding Photograph taken as bridesmaids see bride in her dress for the first time and showing their reactions
To document the best moments of a wedding day, a photographer shouldn’t only focus on the bride and groom , or even on the main event. "Reaction shots," which record the reactions of guests observing the wedding’s activities as they occur, add an invaluable dimension to the visual record of the festivities. “I was constantly given a gentle reminder to look beyond the obvious action while covering sports assignments while on staff at The Hartford Courant newspaper,...Read more
