12th place in Ceremony
The WPJA contest judges presented Justyna Ortyl, a Podkarpackie, Poland wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- This is such a lovely moment as the bride and groom wait for the officiant to sign their marriage license. Although they sealed their love long before “I do’s” were spoken with family and friends, it’s not a union in the eyes of the state until a contract is sealed by signature. But, of course, legalese is no match for their attention to one another in the afterglow of their vows. The doorway behind the couple serves to frame their world - bride and groom basking in love and flowers - in contrast to the all-business officiant at left.
