The newlyweds had their civil ceremony in the Kelvin Suit at Glasgow City Chambers. An intimate room that holds no more than 35 Guests.
Jessie and Mike had always wanted a small wedding with just their closest friends and family. They held their service in Glasgow's registry office and followed it with a meal at their local pub. For them, many of the traditions of a wedding just didn't fit with their idea of a wedding day, so they picked the parts that had meaning to them. Having just a small number of guests allowed them to do things differently. Documentary photography was really important to them, and the idea of having lots of couple photos and group shots again didn't fit into their day. The images reflect the relaxed and unique day, and keeping it intimate was key to its success.
Jessie got ready in her flat in Glasgow, with her mum, dad and brother there along with her closest friends. This was the moment they first saw her in her wedding dress. A vintage dress that was bought in Glasgow. Jessie loved the way the dress swooshed.
Glasgow, Scotland wedding photo of a very laid back bride having her shoes worked on during the getting ready
Jessie was a very laid back bride, and she hadn't even noticed she still had a sticker on the base of her shoe. This image shows one of her friends trying to peel it off just before they left to go get her married.
Even with less than 30 guests, you can still get a great confetti shot. This was one of the few traditions Jessie and Mike really wanted to keep. They made sure their guests had access to loads of confetti which made for a great shot.
Glasgow wedding day portrait of The bride and groom - they are not fans of traditional couple photos
These guys weren't a huge fan of having traditional couple photos taken, so it was important to capture them as they were, fun and spontaneous. This was shortly after they were married along the busy high street in Glasgow City Centre.
I managed to get a few portraits of Jessie and Mike in their local park that was opposite their flat. The texture on the wall reflected their urban city wedding perfectly.
Jessie, with only 30 guests present, was able to really take the time to play with her younger guests. This scene was shot from behind the bar and captures her playful nature.
Jessie's mum and her nan have a giggle in the pub. The relaxed nature of the day ensured all the guests could really enjoy each other's company.
