During a sun-drenched afternoon in downtown Knoxville, Michael and Sara held hands as their wedding ceremony began — and they laughed a bit when the minister attempted to pronounce an Egyptian word.
While they live in Louisiana, Michael and Sara opted to host their wedding at The Standard at Knoxville. Featuring both an outdoor rooftop ceremony space with a terrace, and an indoor reception area, the couple, as well as their guests, were able to enjoy a lively, vibrant atmosphere. This was a multicultural event, one in which the music, flavor and history of the African American and Egyptian cultures were honored. It was a wedding that proved that there is strength and beauty in diversity, and that love is the best reason to celebrate.
