12th place in Emotion
The WPJA contest judges presented Dave Sauvarin, a Guernsey, United Kingdom wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- Big thumbs up for the body language of the man at right, as well as his facial expression. This image is just so "happy" one can't help but smile at the moment here. It feels genuine and the people in the photograph seem very happy here, and it's easy to see in this photograph. It seems as if these people aren't aware of the photographer's presence, and that's a good thing.
