Andrew Tolson

Andrew Tolson was born the year the Beatles came to America and Jeopardy first aired on television. As a boy magician, he specialized in escape artistry, escaping from many things: ropes, plastic handcuffs and most of his responsibilities. Later obsessions included amateur super-heroics, horror movies and British new wave music. His grown-up job for the last twenty years has been as a photographer, and his award-winning work has been published in various publications in Canada and internationally. At present, he is Director of Photography at Maclean's Magazine. His approach to shooting weddings is simple: document the joys and emotion of the day with candid unobtrusive photography. When not shooting, he spends time with his wife and daughter, who considers herself the most well-documented child on the planet.
