Getting Married in India
Home to 1.2 billion people and growing, India is the most populous democracy in the world; offering a vast landscape and myriad of cultural traditions to liven a wedding celebration. This land flows with cultural abundance and contains a blend of languages, religions and customs to provide endless possibilities to an Indian wedding and to the wedding photos that are taken. Because the customs vary according to different cultures and heritages, the style and preference of the wedding can be very diverse from place to place. With Indian weddings, each of the 28 states of India has their own customs and rituals, so if you've seen one, you likely haven't seen them all.
Indian weddings have intricate features and colors, and also tend to be more complex and extravagant family celebrations than typical western ceremonies, so wedding photographers have an excellent opportunity to capture the vibrancy and detail of the festivities. Indian ceremonies are often conducted under a canopy decorated with flowers. In addition, typically flowers are exchanged between couples and are showered on them by the guests after the promises are recited. A wedding photojournalist will be able to creatively capture the bright and dynamic colors of the decorations and the exotic wedding garb of those involved in the festivities. A wedding in India will also allow you to intake the brilliant sites available, including the Taj Mahal, a symbol of love and an architectural wonder. India even contains snowy mountains as well as white sandy beaches and tropical waters, given couples a medley of creative options for their wedding photographs. No matter the style or format, a wedding in India will be an unforgettable experience and the pictures taken will reveal the majesty of its flowing panorama.
