I started an interest in photography whilst very young. My curiosity came from my father and developed into a full blown passion by my teens. Experimenting with 35mm and medium format film cameras I developed an understanding of the basics. Locked for hours in my fathers adapted dark room (our family bathroom) I produced my first black and white photographs and from there turned a hobby into a lifestyle and a profession. I worked for a studio and built up professionally gained knowledge and creative technique. Moving away from the studio opened a different, creative streak and my passion became involved in reality and people. I still enjoy the creative opportunities involved with portraiture and blending people with their passions into creative images but really, being on the periphery and capturing moments that could never truly be recreated started me down the road of wedding photojournalism. The skills I have learned and that I continuously develop see me enjoying every wedding as both a creative challenge and an opportunity to produce visual memories.

My approach to photographing your wedding involves taking shots of the bride getting ready all the way through to the ceremony. If the groom isn't too far away and logistics allow I can incorporate his preparations as well (alternitively, for a supplementary fee I can bring another photographer to cover the groom). I will cover the arrival of the bride and the full ceremony, including, of course, all the imagery in between with guests arriving, the nervous groom waiting and the formal signing of registers or certificates (where this is permitted). I will complete a range of formal group shots involving your guests to your requirements and, of course, the all important portraits of you both as a newly married couple. I will also cover the wedding breakfast and speeches in a rather less formal style and, time permitting, the party and your all important first dance as a married couple. The detailed arrangements for your particular wedding can be discussed and where possible I always like to visit the venue.
