Everything started when I was an AFS exchange student in the US. My interest for getting to experience and learn with different cultures...s the beginning of a life as a photographer. From selling pictures to surfers at the beach while attending Graphic Design/Photography University to being an internationally awarded life-style wedding photographer, it's been more than 15 years on the road. During all these years, I had a chance of traveling around the world and developing my interest for documenting people´s everyday life as well as moments that make life worth living.
Besides shooting weddings, I also photograph for commercial picture agencies such as Getty Images and many other editorial articles in magazines and books. Children Photography is also a big part of my life and as I have three little ones of my own. Children interaction with the bridal party is often a recurring subject on my wedding pictures. From Stockholm to the world, being able to communicate in Portuguese, English, Swedish, Spanish and Italian, I feel honored to be chosen to share one of the happiest moments of a couple's life.Read More
I started as a photoassistent back in 1978, shooting portraits of children, animals, and families; learning all the tricks in a studio...owever, shooting arranged images inside was not my style so i went outside and found it to be more interesting. Since then, capturing the special moments with amazing light has always been a big part of my life. Nature photography is still close to my heart and I do assignments in the wilderness whenever I can. In 2001, I shot my first wedding in a journalistic style, actually without the knowledge that it was a recognized style and since then that has been my style.Read More
I photographed my first wedding in the summer of 2004 just after I had graduated from art school with photography as a major, and right...om the start I felt that this was something that I wanted to work with in the future. I loved the atmosphere and meeting all different people. It also gave me an opportunity as a photographer to develop my own individual style. My influences come from visiting different exhibitions, watching movies and from photographers as Diane Arbus, Annie Leibovitz and Nan Goldin.Read More
Getting the opportunity to take creative pictures and to meet people from different cultures was what lured Kicki in to wedding photography...icki got her interest in photography when she was 15. Her first boyfriend had a SLR and dark room equipment. She got fascinated by watching the images appear on blank pieces of paper in the dark room and also learned the photographic techniques quickly.
Shortly after she picked up on photography she managed to get a job as a assistant at a photo studio in Stockholm. There she learnd about the basics of photography and at the age of 23, Kicki was head of the studio. The wish for a full time job, instead of freelancing, brought her to the department of forensic investigation (called KRIM or CSI in Sweden) where she worked for twelve years with highlighting and photographing evidence for the forensics. Through her job she got a scholarship to an education in Schweiz, where she studied lightning techniques.
The experiences she got from CSI taught her to give even the slightest details attention. The work of highlighting evidence with multiple light sources gave her a very good technical competence and she learned to analyze and read people, which helped her getting close to the people she photographed.
But the need for creative freedom and the opportunity to meet people in happy situations brought Kicki back to wedding photography.
She has been specializing in wedding photography for 20 years, and is fond of the documentary photography where nothing is directed and choreographed. Back in the 80's she moved her wedding photography out of the studio and the stiff images of that time.
Kicki works with top of the line equipment and is constantly evolving her skills, to reach even higher. Her latest work includes photographing the acclaimed NHL-player Mats "Sudden" Sundins wedding.Read More

1. Thought I would drop you a line to say that we have done our first shoot from a client who picked us as we are WPJA members. We photographed the couple during a 4 hour shoot. They are touring Scandinavia on their honeymoon and had decided in having some extra post wedding photography in the beautiful city of Stockholm.
Their photographer for the wedding service held in Hong Kong was also a WPJA member.
International WPJA team work.
2. I would just like to mention how pleased we are being WPJA members and we are very impressed with how you run this great organization.
We have just been highlighted in yet another photo magazine called FOTO (The biggest in Scandinavia) in another 4 page reportage of how we work and our association to the WPJA - naturally we are thrilled by all this attention. And now Marianne has also won first prize - great!
Since we became the first members in Sweden you have chosen to give membership to "More Than Words" and "PW Foto."
I thought you would like to know that since Juliana & Anna (More Than Words) and Paulina (PW Foto) became members we have now met each other on 3-4 occasions and we are all thrilled that we could meet with other photographers in the same branch and discuss how we work within wedding photojournalism - we are holding mini WPJA meetings :) And also Paulina has just won a first prize - not bad for Sweden!! A big country yet with only a small population of 8 million.
It cannot be easy for you guys to decide on who should be new members - including ourselves - but be rest assured the ones you have picked in Sweden are representative of the WPJA, I know that the Juliana & Anna were attending courses at a wedding photographers forum last week in New York and Paulina just a couple of days ago was holding a lecture about wedding photography at a large photographers exhibition and forum.
Last weekend I had, by far, the most fun and most loving wedding this year.
Although the couple was very famous and many celebrities were amongst their guests, they treated me with the highest respect a photographer could ever wish for. How did they get in touch with me?
Through WPJA!
As they are from England and the wedding would be held in Sweden, they just searched the Internet for "Wedding Photographer Sweden" and when the WPJA site came up first in the search motor, they were
deeply impressed by the respect and seriousness it transmitted. From that point, it was just to choose the Swedish photographer from the WPJA that was most adequate to their needs.
Thank you for sending me this wonderful couple and giving me the opportunity to show them the beautiful pictures that can be gotten when they hire one WPJA professional!
