Brought out a laugh. Love the reaction. Great photo.
There were many great images entered into this contest but in many of those images it was not clear that the photo was taken AT a wedding. Lots of band pictures but some could be taken at any function. I like that we see the band, the bride and are told a story. After all that is what wedding photojournalism is suppose to accomplish. Well done. This image makes me smile.
Great photo of the cake movers moving the wedding cake into the ballroom.
Just perfect the way the cake top lines up with the castle edge in the painting behind it. The men framed by the arch is echoed in the arch to the left which along with the lines of the rug leads your eye from one section of the image to the next. I'm not sure which direction the men are walking which creates a feeling that they are in a dance of tug-a-war. Beautiful moment.
My only complaint is that it is not clear that the image was taken at or before a wedding. I completely understand why but wish there was something that tells us that this is a bride or a bridesmaid or mother of the bride or something. Other then that... this image is well composed, fun and technically spot on. Her hand with the brush looks like a painters hand. Her gesture of her hand, especially the wrist is perfect. You can feel the intent of her stroke. Lovely.
I really like this image but prefer it in B&W. There is just too much going on with the colors. You almost lose the man in the car. But when it's changed to B&W the focus somehow shifts from the women to him. Well done.
