I love the expression in every face. this photo really catches the anxiety of the moment. it could have been a little looser around the edges, its a little tight - but it is one of my favourites.

Good use of the frame, an image with a lot going on that conveys the preparation for the ceremony very well. i think the lens has created too much distortion though.

I love the mood in this picture and the sense of a captured moment with an unobtrusive presence of the photographer. There is something old world about this picture that gives it a nice style. Each person is in their own world and yet all the pieces come together in the moment
Photographer's Comment
The groom, from Ireland, stopped for a few (okay several) pints before the ceremony - I tagged along to make some great images as he spent time with his brothers and nephews. They sat close to the window and I took advantage of the diffused natural light.

Something mysteriously wonderful about approaching what normally is a mundane pre-wedding moment because of the dramatic lighting, fan-framed moody moment. Also feels like a meeting of mafia bosses before a wedding. Well done.

The guy half-choking because of a tight collar is a common image. It speaks boldly about the discomfort of dressing up. What makes the image special is the candidness and the fact that the guy is the perfect, if unintentional, clown.

JUDGES COMMENTS:This photo has good energy, is fun and is well done. I like the spontaneity of the moment and the access and intimacy that the photographer has with the subjects. It is the everyday moment that we don't usually get to see.

Nice composition with the mysterious subject matter of the “men in black.†Good contrast and composition with the men lined up in black against the traditional architecture of the white church.

Reminds me of the Brat Pack of modern day Oceans 11. Also appreciating the space, sense of location, simple composition and natural flow.

This image grew on me. Once I saw the dog was also wearing a tie it was a done deal that this was an enjoyable different moment.

I like the authenticity of this moment and the simplicity of the composition. The relationships between the men are communicated and there is nothing included in the frame that is not necessary. The photographer feels like one of the family and is close enough to capture an intimate moment.

Fun and different as there were simply too many looking in mirror, standing around moments in this category but this image caught a moment of letting loose.
