The WPJA contest judges presented William Lambelet, a Herault (34) , France wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- Although I like the moment captured here, and the steady progression, left to right, from deep shadows to bright light, those elements are mere backdrops to the peculiar half-man shadow cast on the wall. And if that vexing shadow isn’t enough to earn your appreciation... look again. I was so busy trying to figure out the strange lighting in this photo, that I nearly missed seeing the question mark (near center) hiding in plain sight as though mocking my bewilderment. What a strangely humorous image.
