The photographer did a good job to anticipate, and make this image. All of the elements fell into place, including the unpredictable birds. This image has peak moment, a strong composition and wonderful sense of joy and place.

This was a hilarious image because of the expression on the groom, the butt shot of the bride and the appropriately garish look to the fill flash.

This photo tells a story, but it's a mystery story. That couple seems out of place behind our tuba player. And why is there a tuba player in the first place? The couple almost seems oblivious to the fellow blowing his heart out for them. The photographer controls dynamic elements, included the right amount of the musician, allowed the couple their space, and made a complex situation readable for us. The version I got looked just a hair flat, in need of contrast.

There were a lot of tender moments in this collection of photographs. This one rose to the top for me. The tender moment itself between the woman and young man is graceful, from the expressive hands to the closed eyes to the half-hug. And then the man on the left adds a bit of tension, standing rigidly, an awkward and uncertain look on his face. This is a quiet moment that took some careful seeing.

This image is so simple, and I think that's what makes it effective. There is nothing here except the pure emotions of these two people on their wedding day. Beautiful!

This felt truly original and got at the joy of the ceremony without even showing faces.

This image grew on me every time I saw it. The pride and the simple happiness of the woman's expression is perfect.

This is a graphic composition infused with a sense of light and stillness. The man with the book adds some irony and perhaps even humor. The high key background and the framing centers the eye on the bride and groom.

I like an image that can combine something completely different with the ceremony itself. There is no doubt about where this image was taken, nor what is going on. A nice catch.

This is a photograph of two groups of people. The wedding party and the people looking at the wedding party. And then there are those people in the upper left corner making sure the frame has no unused corners. Nice. The easy, elegant mood of the bridal groups' faces contrasts with the odd faces and body postures of the people at left. And we, the shadowy onlookers, get to try to make sense of it. Handled well technically, and the print is beautifully rendered.
