Hello.... I'm John. I'm short, I wear big glasses and when I haven't had a shave for a month or two I somehow manage to grow a scraggly, scruffy ginger beard with flecks of grey in it of which I am very proud. Lots of people think I look like that choirmaster chap on the telly (I can't see it myself but who am I to argue). I have been taking pictures for a long time now. I can't photograph cats, landscapes or sunsets, but I do love taking photos of people and somehow manage to make my living doing so. In that time I have developed a real love for capturing the special moments of a wedding day and have found a style that truly reflects how I would wish to have been photographed at my own Wedding. I have worked for many lovely couples and I am truly humbled whenever I am asked to be a part of one of the most important days of their lives. My wedding photography is intended to record a wedding day in a refined reportage style. I like to work in a way that ensures I document the day, without being central to it. I want my images to reflect the love, romance, joy and beauty of the day, together with special moments spent with family and friends. I fully understand that being photographed can be quite a daunting experience for many people (I'm not overly keen on being photographed myself). However, I pride myself on working with clients in a relaxed and friendly manner in order to ensure that it is an enjoyable part of their wedding day. [Worcestershire Wedding Photographer]
I love photographing weddings with all the emotions they bring out of people, and there is usually cake, what's not to like! It's these emotions I aim to capture in my photographs. I've been interested in photography since my Dad trusted me not to drop his trusted SLR (back in the film days) and had my own camera for my 16th birthday. I took a break when I started my first job as a physics teacher, but sparked my interest again when we had children. My main other interest is karate and Japanese culture generally if you get to visit, make sure you try okonomiyaki. I've been lucky enough to have travelled to Japan a few times and lead a school exchange visit to a Japanese school. I even got to try kendo and train karate in a Japanese dojo. Let's take the ‘cheeeeeese’ out of wedding photography, No posing, no cliches, but a relaxed, unscripted record of your day – just call me The Wedding Ninja!! I love a wedding with personality, one that has ‘You’ stamped all over it Want a floral wedding dress with Doc Martens? Brilliant Getting married in an old cinema? Amazing Duck herding at the drinks reception? That will do nicely! My Dad is a photographer and I was given my first camera when I was 6 years old, but then sort of lost interest for a while. Then, about 15 years ago, whilst travelling in Asia, I bought a digital camera, spent about 3 days in Singapore taking photographs almost non stop and I was hooked, the rest, as they say, is history!! I began photographing weddings in 1987 and have covered many, if not all types of wedding ceremonies, ranging from the small intimate group in a local register office to several hundreds of guests in a cathedral. Because I’m based in the West Midlands, I’m centrally located to cover weddings in all the Midlands area, nationally and even abroad. I’ve been privileged to shoot on more than one occasion in places such as Ireland, Mexico and the Caribbean. [West Midlands Wedding Photographer]
I’m Alex and I’m an award-winning photographer, husband to an amazing wife and father to a beautiful daughter. Currently living in the picturesque Cotswolds I shoot weddings all over the UK, Europe and anywhere in the world I’m asked to. I absolutely love using photography as a way of capturing emotion and telling stories which is why I specialise in documentary wedding photojournalism, a more candid and hands-off approach to wedding photography. Basically I will never tell you what to do, where to stand or ask you to ‘act natural’! I am also privileged to work with Sony UK as one of their Sony Alpha Creators. This includes delivering talks and presentations for Sony at photographic events and conventions all over the UK about my approach to documentary wedding photography using the Alpha system. As well as giving talks for Sony UK I also enjoy teaching and sharing my photographic approach and techniques at events and photography conventions around the UK and I have spoken several times at the annual The Photography Show at the NEC in Birmingham. Clive, We got back late Wednesday evening and saw your email - we couldn't resist watching the slideshow of all 739 photos! Safe to say we were exhausted at work on Thursday, but it was so worth it! We fell in love with the photos and the day all over again. Thank you so much for the priceless memories you have captured of the best day of our lives! We will recommend you to everyone we know. You're such a professional, talented but chilled out guy! Your style of photography fits perfectly with our relaxed day! Thank you so much xx
Thank you so much for agreeing to photograph our wedding. We love the photos and really appreciated your patience and good humour during the day. It was hard deciding which photos we wanted to use for our thank you cards as there are so many great ones we could have used, and it is only going to get harder when we move onto the albums!
