Andre de Saint Phalle
I have been taking pictures since I was in the third grade. My teacher was Paul Czaja, author of “Writing With Light”. I was in the darkroom before I went to HS. While still there I fell in love with Ingmar Bergman movies and dreamed of making black and white films about human relationships. I won the Ralph Bradley Prize for film while at Phillips Exeter Academy.
As an adult, I worked as an assistant picture editor at Universal Studios. I later shot TV news and sports for an NBC affiliate station. Eventually, my entrepreneurial instincts brought me to wedding photojournalism. I have been lucky enough to attend a number of multi-day workshops with Bambi Cantrell, Cliff Mautner, and Joe Buissink. I have photographed over 100 weddings with my amazing wife Veronica de Saint Phalle. My other interests include video and multitrack recording with my guitars. I have two big dogs that keep getting me out of my chair, which is just what the doctor ordered.
My aunt Niki de Saint Phalle was a world-renowned sculptor and her life work inspires me to always reach for the best that I can accomplish in my art as a wedding photojournalist.
