Shooting an elopement or small York wedding event is a wedding photojournalist’s dream: a fairly open schedule with lots of breathing space for creativity – it’s just the photographer, the couple, the officiant, and perhaps a few select companions.
Members are ready to document any city hall, mini, pop-up, or elopement wedding, even if it is a Monday-Thursday ceremony. Search for the “Can Shoot Weddings on Short Notice!” message on the listings below.
We are anxious to create a picture story chronicling your symbolic, outdoor, boutique, small wedding from beginning to end. In this sense, it is no different from any other event that we have covered. The emphasis is on documenting key moments, capturing spontaneous displays of emotion, telling your real love story, as well as creating artistic portraits and details.

1 Documentary Wedding Photographers...
As a wedding photojournalist I aim to capture the story and emotion of the day, in a vibrant and fun way. I am based in Hornsea, East Yorkshire, and have photographed weddings in this area but also throughout the UK. While I am primarily a wedding photographer I have covered events, festivals and studio work, but wedding photography is where my heart is. I worked as a second shooter for another wedding photographer for several years, whose style was very much traditional and each wedding had the same structure. It soon dawned on me that I much preferred to capture the little moments, the love and laughter and pure emotion of the day rather than a set photography list. My biggest achievement in photography was having one my photos exhibited in the Netherlands. The photo was of my son standing in a pool of water looking out to sea. My son is autistic, so to capture him in a moment of peace was quite rare. He's my real inspiration in life, no matter the obstacle he will tackle it the best he can.
