A long time ago, when I was just 9 years old, I received my first reflex camera...simply, I fell in love with photography. Obviously, I didn't know anything about photography but I was sure that photography will have taken a big part of my life. I didn't know how or when, but it would have been my future. During my life, I tried many types of photography but no one of them had literally stolen my mind and my heart like wedding photography. I like telling stories and first of all true stories. Reportage photography could be the perfect way to tell stories. After some courses, I thought I was ready to start my career as a wedding photographer. I was really scared at the beginning, many responsibilities in my hands: create people's memories. But the passion and love for photography have helped me every time. Every wedding was a confirm that become a wedding storyteller would have been my future. So, I've started to live different lives through new couples every weekend. Love, laughter and tears during each wedding day, a lot of emotions altogether. I still remember a text message after my first wedding in the UK: "[...] you make me cry [...]" and after 3 years, the bride send me a new message saying: "...thank you again for capturing our day so beautifully". But how I look at wedding photography? Truth, this is my goal. During all day I catch every important moment, sometimes I really have stolen them but never, never I make pressure to the bride or the groom, even during the few poses taken. Everything has to be naturally. Composition, lights, shadows, movements are some of the things in my wedding recipe, there is a secret ingredient as well... Why couple choose me? There is a common phrase: "We like your pictures because there are true smiles...". That's it. [Essex Wedding Photographer]
I cannot claim that I have been surrounded by cameras my whole life. I haven’t been taking photos from a young age. The truth is that while my dad loved taking pictures of me, it wasn’t something that I really picked up until I got married. My uncle was known as the photographer of the family and my father would tend to ask him for advice. I just never really understood the joy of taking a photo. I just thought a camera was another toy that my dad had! Following my wedding, this all changed. I found photography to be something that I could really explore my inner creativity. As I said in the video, watching people and their interactions is a little thing that I love doing to pass my time. So by combining the creativity and the joy of capturing moments led me to a career in Wedding Photography as an Asian Wedding Photographer. In 2011 our family was rocked by the sudden illness of my father. This was where photography really instilled in me the sense of capturing and recording a moment forever. The moments that my father and I had had together were forever imprinted in my mind and also on paper. This is not a sad story and my father fought and battled his way through the hard times. He and my mother are my inspirations for Wedding Photography. More recently, my wife and I were blessed with a beautiful, bouncy son. He and my wife are my rocks. The little person who keeps me grounded at all times. He is the person who can instantly melt me. And we have some of the most amazing photos of us together! When we meet, ask me to share these pictures with you, I will instantly turn into the proud father with LOTS of photos! In the last few years, I have been lucky enough to photograph a range of different Wedding Ceremonies. From colourful Indian Weddings, fun Sikh Weddings, beautiful Greek Weddings and intimate English Weddings. [Essex Wedding Photographer]
I’m Kari and although I speak with a bit of a ‘yank’ accent, I’m a London-based wedding photographer. I work with brides and grooms that are passionate about their wedding photography, helping them in any way I can to ensure they are going to throw an amazing party for their family and friends. When I’m not working, I love exploring London. I’ll meander around an area that I’ve not been to before. I like to get lost and then find my way out, passing through shops, art galleries, stopping for coffee. I’ll happily walk miles, and I love the feeling of “Ooh, that’s a pretty street! Let’s see what’s down there!” I love reading about design, modern architecture, and street art. I love a good conversation over a tasty meal with my husband. When we’re out, we like to swing dance, going to comedy clubs and whatever weird events we can find happening in London. I love weddings. A good wedding for me is about family and friends, all your favourite people, coming together for an amazing celebration, full of love and happiness. I love the packed dance floors, the emotional Dads, the slightly awkward but hilarious grooms’ speeches, and seeing two people celebrate their commitment together. [London Wedding Photographer]
My name is Simon and I am a documentary photographer. A photograph documents a happy time in your life & is something to look back on. What I do is record those moments & make them last. I am lucky to do what I love for a living & since photographing my first wedding in 2007, I have been fortunate enough to photograph weddings and elopements all across the UK, throughout London & occasionally further afield. In that time I have seen every kind of occasion & I know the memories are the same no matter where or how you choose to get married. I believe in a natural style of photography which ensures you won't spend your wedding day constantly posing for photos, I will find the moments rather than staging them. Just like every other day in your life, nothing on your wedding day should be forced. [London Wedding Photographer]
Hello there – I’m Razvan and I’ve been shooting weddings and elopements for over 15 years now. What started as a challenge at my best friend’s wedding turned into a very expensive hobby at first and then into my grown up, full-time job. I’m forever grateful to my wonderful clients who trusted me with their precious wedding photos and continue to do so – nothing makes me happier than receiving their thanks after seeing their images. I love meeting in person with my clients and hear about their plans and questions for their big day over a cup of coffee – as with anything, good communication is the key to having happy clients. Weddings are somehow similar to car races – you only get one chance to capture moments and genuine emotions. My motto is that I’m not there to create the event but to try and capture it and turn it into an accurate story in images of the day. I’m a very friendly and personable guy, very focused while working and happy that many past clients are now very good friends. Other stuff that makes me happy besides my work is traveling, cooking (big barbecue fan) and good coffee. I live with my wife in a lovely small village and we are proud parents to Spoty the dog and Frankie the cat (we both believe he is really a dog in a feline body). [Bedfordshire Wedding Photographer]
I live in the beautiful Norfolk Broads with my wife and two children. I have been photographing weddings since 2010. One of the best things in life is a good story and that's what my approach to photography is all about. I get a real buzz capturing those special moments, moments you might not remember or, perhaps, did not get to see. Even moments which, at the time, might have seemed insignificant will take on greater significance as the years roll by. Preferring to capture your day as it happens, I love working with couples who want to relax and enjoy their wedding day and not have to pose for photo after photo. I get my best images when you're just being yourselves - natural light and natural emotions! [Norfolk-UK Wedding Photographer]
I’m Jeremy James, a trained a photojournalist and full-time professional wedding professional shooting documentary wedding photography for stylish relaxed couples. My clients know they’ll look their best – when they are doing what they do best: having fun with little interruption. My skill lies in seeing and composing beautiful candid frames, but I always allow some time for some beautiful, natural, portraiture. I honed my documentary wedding photography skills in editorial photography, starting my career shooting for national newspapers and glossy magazines. I photographed everything from news and fashion to celebrities and royalty before transitioning into full-time wedding photography. [Norfolk-UK Wedding Photographer]
I'm Steven. I'm a husband, a father and a wedding reportage photographer. My career began in advertising where I rose to the ranks of Art Director for two of London's top ad agencies. Turning away from the fictitious nature of advertising my passion for telling stories took over and I now pursue something all together more real - capturing the greatest day of your lives. I'll blend into the background, marrying stunning compositions with real, raw emotion to capture all the joy, tears, love and laughter of your wedding day. [London Wedding Photographer]
Photography - its what I love, whether its photographing a wedding, a Himalayan mountain range or a carnival. If you like the look of my work then get in touch, and lets talk about your big day. I specialise in reportage wedding photography but if you'd like a few posed shots I'm happy to help, I also love shooting around the golden hour and am currently working on a twilight project - in which I take couples out for a lit portrait as darkness falls. I came into photography through my uncle who is a professional Landscape photographer, seeing his posters on the walls at home inspired me to pick up a camera and start seeing the world through a lens. I studied Photography at School, College and then University where I graduated with a 1st Class degree in the subject, and I've been doing it for a living ever since. My photography has been published around the world by National Geographic, The Times, The Guardian, The Independent and many more. [London Wedding Photographer]
I grew up in a small town next to a beautiful mountain and my intense love of nature came from wandering through woods with friends and spending time with my grandparents in the country. As a child, I found our family Pentax camera endlessly fascinating even before I was able to use it. Later I finally got my first digital camera and was arranging impromptu portrait sessions with my friends during the holidays. I was always interested in creative media and music but decided on a career in business and marketing. After not long, I decided to take seriously my passion from my childhood and give up my day job. Wedding photography came to me by being asked to take photos of my friend's wedding. I feel very privileged to be able to get to know new people by witnessing a very intimate day of their life. After every wedding, I feel I have experienced and learned a lot. It's like you are watching a very emotional movie but you also run around and snap all day :) I love capturing natural moments and telling an honest story of the day. I have photographed more than 50 weddings in England and abroad since 2016. [London Wedding Photographer]
Hello, I am super new to the WPJA so will enter competitions very soon. I am a UK wedding photographer living in Hertfordshire with my husband Leon, two wonderful kids, and 5 pets. Leon is also my trusted second photographer who has been by my side for 25 years. Not just that he also has an incredible photographic eye. All my work is captured with professional Sony Mirrorless and Canon Cameras. I trained as a professional wedding photographer for a year with The Trained Eye Academy based in Amersham. I am passionate about engaging with my clients, understanding their needs, and capturing their life in a truly unique and individual way. We all see the world differently which is why people fascinate me and why I find weddings in particular, so special and exciting. I love photographing very natural moments as they happen to capture real, raw emotion. Anticipation, anxiety, joy, sadness, love, relief is all part of a wedding day. Photos that tell a story with feelings are priceless and tend to grow on you as time goes by. Documentary wedding photography will give you beautiful photographs with honest memories to cherish forever. I am passionate about delivering the very best service from our first meeting, capturing your wedding, and delivering your images through to aftercare such as ordering albums, prints, and wall art. My career as a photographer started whilst at college, studying an HND in Graphic Design back in 2010, I had gained previous experience of the photographic industry whilst exploring a very short stint in front of the camera, which I enjoyed. However, the urge to create the art myself became irresistible and I just knew I had to try it out. I picked up my first camera a Nikon D40 and this is where my dream of being a photographer began. I started photographing more for my college projects and local models to practice and perfect my work. At this point, I knew I had to start learning more about the technical side of photography, so I pushed my ideas in college and watched countless Youtube videos whilst gaining industry contacts within Norfolk and beyond. Soon I felt comfortable enough to begin photographing small events and doing commissions for local businesses. I then began to think about something I thought I would never have the chance of doing, University! Applying for University was probably the most nerve-racking time of my life closely followed by the interview! I just knew this was my path and I had to everything in my power that to make it happen, thankfully I left the interview that day completely gobsmacked with an unconditional offer to study a BA (HONS) Degree in Photography at Norwich University of the Arts. After finishing my Photography Degree at Norwich University of the Arts, I completed my first full wedding season as a ‘main shooter’ and have been in love with weddings ever since! Photography has been my life and passion for the last 10 years, and I wouldn't change it for anything. I also work in both the commercial photographic world and the wedding industry; as well as part-time for Nikon. This means I am fully immersed in the world of photography! Hi, I’m Paul and I live in Kent in the UK with my wife Claire and our 3 kids. I’ve been shooting weddings for 11 years now and even typing that feels completely crazy to me! I still remember my first wedding so vividly. I won't pretend that it was always my passion to be a photographer, in fact I didn’t own a “proper camera” until I bought a Canon 450 d before me and Claire went on our honeymoon. But as soon as I started taking pictures I knew it was something I loved, I knew I wanted to get better. As with most parents I loved documenting our family as it grew. If you ever question the value of photography then just go back and look at those photos, the pictures I have of my kids as babies, of my wife when she was pregnant are just so valuable to me. I shoot on average 25 weddings a year and work with couples looking for a largely unobtrusive approach. For me photography is about taking those fleeting, often unseen moments that we are scarcely aware of and shining a light on them. [Kent Wedding Photographer]
I’m Tim Stephenson, the photographer behind Tim Stephenson Photography. I’m somewhere around the 40 mark, married to Angela since 2008 and Dad to our two usually wonderful children – Sam & Ellie. Based in Brooke, just outside of Norwich (Norfolk, UK), but shooting weddings just about anywhere, I’ve always had a passion for photography; starting with developing my own black & white film & prints many moons ago back in school. I shot my first wedding in 2008, quickly realised that I absolutely loved capturing the emotion & fun of the day – and it all kind of grew from there! After shooting a few early weddings for friends and family, I quickly realised that I absolutely love telling a story through images – and still can’t quite believe that I get to do what I adore doing! With every single wedding being unique and amazing in its own right, this isn’t something that ever gets old! Over the last few years, I’ve been honoured to shoot weddings at a whole host of wonderfully exquisite venues around the UK, including Norfolk & East Anglia – with repeat visits to some of the finest venues in our wonderful county. RAVES, REVIEWS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS
You shot our Dorset wedding back in September and I have to say from start to finish you was a pleasure to work with the pictures have come out better than we could have wished for. We opted for the second shooter (Chris) option and they worked superbly as a team. All of our guests commented on what a great duo they were! Thanks Ben for giving us such great photos to remind us of our special day! Mr & Mrs Dawson
Working with you was fantastic - you are very professional, whilst still being very approachable and great fun. Your photos of our wedding in Weymouth last October are absolutely stunning and everything we'd hoped for and more. We opted for the top tier package and we're really glad we did - made things so much easier and less stressful on the day - not having to worry about if you captured everything (since you brought along a 2nd photographer) and you were there until the wee hours too. Before the wedding day we met up with you over a few pints and explained our hopes & ideas for the day which you took on board and wove into your own style. What was captured was all the beautiful little natural moments that we wanted, plus all the big formal photos too. Couldn't have asked for more! You also attended the wedding in a great suit, so blended right in and didn't make anyone feel awkward or intruded upon. So glad we picked you for our photos that'll be hung on our walls, and our family's walls for many many years to come smile emoticon
Dear Nel and Leon, You are such wonderful and talented people. Your photos really captured the essence of our day. Every little detail, guests enjoying themselves, and all the family and couple portraits; everything was covered. You really became part of our day; it felt like you were friends who just happened to have a camera! We couldn’t have chosen better photographers. We have had so many compliments on the online gallery and we cannot wait to receive our printed album. They quality of the shots, the lighting, capturing silly moments too; we’re also looking forward to having some portraits on canvas in our home. Thank you so very much Nel and Leon. Lots of love, Kira and David
You photographed our wedding in September 2013, and the results were fabulous: a good blend of unposed (which we were hoping for!), posed (obligatory family shots), and some really clever sleight-of-hand pictures of us (now framed in our living room). Can't recommend you highly enough! Zoe Hopkins and Gordon (married in Dorset).
