Netherlands and Noord Brabant wedding photography by Moniek van Gils for breda, rotterdam, bruidsfotograaf

My passion is wedding reportage photography. I enjoy every assignment. I love photography with natural daylight, which makes my reports light and fresh. I capture the interaction between people in a casual way, resulting in authentic images and pure emotions. Things I love the most are; my son Semih, my friend, nature / being outside, a positive mindset, a latte macchiato, and chocolate! My photos have been published on various wedding blogs; Burnett's Boards | The Perfect Wedding | Hochzeitswahn | Wedspiration | Whim Magazine | The Weddingblog [Noord Brabant Wedding Photographer]

Thomas Jongbloed wedding photographer for The Netherlands

I am Thomas, a wedding photographer, living in Utrecht. Work throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and actually, secretly the whole world;). Briefly about myself. I live in Leidsche Rijn / Utrecht with my dear wife Leonie; and been married for 3 years. Five years ago we removed a cat (Bouya) from the shelter. Sometimes couch decoration, other times our cat child. If I don't have a camera in my hands ... (that happens sometimes) I like to skate, I love sports; Bodypump, Grit HIIT, can be found 3 times a week in the Crossfit Box and preferably at 9:00 in the morning. We are also crazy about Netflix, what an invention. Cool series that we watch or have watched: Dexter, Breaking Bad, Orange is the new Black, Homeland, The Bridge… and you can wake me up for an animated film. Oh yes ... and for citizens .... the 2nd best invention. My favorite holiday destination is Portugal. A dream for old age is a private mountain in the Algarve. And to realize this, I started this year with a Portuguese language course. Our honeymoon was, therefore, a camper trip through the Algarve. What a cool feeling of freedom that is. Wedding Photojournalism - Groomsmen take a car to a mechanic to change a tire in this photo taken by an award-winning wedding photojournalist.
Many WPJA members can trace their roots to the news profession in some way, having shot everything from small-town stories to significant historical events that have led to Pulitzer Prizes. Likewise, many have felt the adrenaline rush that news photojournalists get from bagging the winning touchdown catch, documenting heart-wrenching tragedies and being on the front lines of history. There’s also the gratification of getting published with a byline in a major publication, and the mass-...Read more

Your guests’ thoughts and emotions are given over to your love. In turn, they are active participants in your big day, compounding the good feelings of the love-filled event. With ceremonial dances, emotional toasts or simply their blessings, your family and friends have come together on this day to help seal...Read more
Photo of the Bride & Groom with the guests caught in the rain running for cover.
You will be told some traditions — Hindu, Maltese — consider rain a good omen on a wedding day. You will be told a wet knot is harder to untie. You may — correctly — think that if the two of you can face the day's elements with aplomb and grace, you're more likely to face life's challenges with strength and flexibility. The truth is, you can plan for the possibility of rain on your wedding day . (If it's an outdoor wedding and depending on the climate, in...Read more
Wedding photography detail of bride and bridesmaids Preparing for the ceremony outside in the wind with their bouquets.
With the snap of a shutter, a camera lens captures a single moment in time; one that can never occur again in the exact same way. At any given wedding, there are an infinite number of these moments that pass us by. Some hold in place longer than others; some come and go in the blink of an eye. It is through such fleeting details that some wedding photojournalists earn their keep. With a professional eye honed through years of visual training and practice, they constantly scan the wedding scene...Read more
Wedding Photojournalism Beauty Photos of the bride crossing her eyes as she reacts to her dress being buttoned up from behind
The bride steps into her wedding gown. Her mother and a coterie of bridesmaids assist her with the final touches on her hair and makeup. They primp and preen at her gown, perhaps contributing something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Today, the vast majority of brides invite their photographer to document the “getting ready” period, and for good reason. Getting ready can be a monumental task for the bride and her entourage, and an event in itself. It...Read more
Wedding Photographer captures quite moment as the bridesmaid looks timidly out before entering the scene
Weddings can be chaotic, noisy affairs where emotions are displayed publicly, so one of your biggest challenges that day can be capturing that quiet, intimate side. Trust, anticipation, skilled observation, savvy lens selection and a host of other judgments make it possible to bag those poignant moments in images that recall the day for those in attendance, and reveal a story for those who were not. It is all part of the unique value proposition that our members bring to wedding photojournalism.Read more
