Lodzkie and Lodz wedding photography by Piotr Maksa, of Poland

As far back as I can remember, always I was attracted to various forms of artistic expression. I always had to create something. It was music and playing the guitar. It was also painting and drawing. Although my first camera I bought about 25 years ago, my professional career pushed me over a dozen years in a completely different direction. I entered the world of photography shyly as an amateur photographer. For years it was just my hobby. However, with time it absorbed me completely. First amateur reportages and working with people. Also wedding reportages. First at friends' place. Then the first payable orders. I became addicted to it and decided to take care of photography professionally. Actually a trivial story that changed my life. During every reportage or session, I feel a positive energy, which pushes me to act. Working out my own style. Now I photograph weddings at home and all over the world, and still meet new and wonderful people. Wedding photography is my passion and way of life. Since 2018 I have been a proud member of this prestigious organization. [Lodz Wedding Photographer]

Shaunte Dittmar, of California, is a wedding photographer for West Shore Cafe
Picture this: It's mid-summer, with temps in the low-80s, a cloudless sky, and oh-so-light gusts keeping everyone just cool enough. Maybe you're out on a bluff, overlooking the ocean, or in a fragrant, blooming garden. A scene is set for the ideal summer wedding. But—back in reality here—there's no way that six to eight months or more down the road any couple can forecast such pristine conditions for their wedding day. Despite their idealized image, summer weddings can...Read more
Show Shutter Wedding Day Photography - Groom dancing at the wedding reception with some blur
Dragging the shutter is a basic photographic technique that is often put to highly creative use by the best wedding photojournalists. Whether depicting the bride mid-whir during a dance, or documenting a child bounding down the aisle at the church, dragging the shutter helps produce images that contain a sense of motion and bring an added dose of festivity to what, for some, already feels like a whirlwind day. When photographers “drag” the shutter by slowing down its speed, they...Read more

Sybil Rondeau, of , is a wedding photographer for Domaine des Forges
While you may have picked out a beautiful, rustic church, a serene outdoor setting, and a posh reception hall as ideal backdrops to your wedding photographs, the shots don't stop there. Remember: The wedding photojournalist's mission is to document the entire day. And one of the often overlooked, and maybe under-appreciated settings for photos during your wedding day occurs while the bride, groom and other members of the wedding party are in a car, limo, party bus or other forms of...Read more
Wedding photography article about Client Reviews, Testimonials and Letters - The bride writes her vows in the attic of a historic victorian mansion
Imagine going to the mailbox in the morning. Out from between the utility bills and the nail salon coupons falls a smallish envelope containing a folded handwritten note. On it, it reads: Our day was truly magical because of you and your talents. Whenever we look upon our wedding photos, we are instantly transported back to the moment; laughing and crying all over again. Thank you for such a priceless gift. This is a summary of actual client letters from WPJA members’ weddings. It’s...Read more
Wedding Photojournalism - Groomsmen take a car to a mechanic to change a tire in this photo taken by an award-winning wedding photojournalist.
Many WPJA members can trace their roots to the news profession in some way, having shot everything from small-town stories to significant historical events that have led to Pulitzer Prizes. Likewise, many have felt the adrenaline rush that news photojournalists get from bagging the winning touchdown catch, documenting heart-wrenching tragedies and being on the front lines of history. There’s also the gratification of getting published with a byline in a major publication, and the mass-...Read more

Open-air wedding ceremony. Young couple during the marriage vow at Rose Residence Zarebow, Poland

Aleksandra & Philipp

We apologize for the delay in answering, but something was still falling out. In addition, we spent one evening watching these wonderful photos and forgot about the whole world :) Thank you very much for the material sent! The pictures are great! You can see that you have a great eye and can catch these special moments during the ceremony. The prepared report reflects the atmosphere and charm of this place and event! It all worked out beautifully. We also sent materials to our guests (we did not hide any of the pictures :)) and received very positive feedback. Some mentioned that they were very touched when looking at the photos. You gave us all a lot of emotions and awakened memories of that day.
