Photographer from East Greenwich Captures Weddings with Documentary Style

Hi, I'm Katie. I live in East Greenwich, RI with my husband, son, and two dogs. I am the owner and principal wedding photographer of Brave Hearts Photography. I've been in business for over 5 years and have photographed approximately 100 weddings. I first learned black-and-white film photography when I was in high school in Manchester, CT. I took a break from photography to attend Providence College and worked for 7 years in a corporate job in the financial industry. It was planning my own wedding in 2012 that brought me back to (digital) photography. I absolutely loved being able to relive the magic of my wedding day through photographs and it became clear that I could provide that same wonderful experience for others. After taking some refresher courses at the Silvermine Art Guild in New Canaan CT, and working as a second photographer, I jumped head-first into wedding photography in January 2014. My documentary style organically evolved from my own experiences as a bride. The thing I loved most about my own wedding was having all of my friends and family in one room - and then finding out afterward about all of the shenanigans that went on! After the stress and tedium of planning my own wedding, I realized how important it is to be able to enjoy every moment of it. And to hire a photographer that doesn't pull you away, but captures all of those special moments! When I'm not working, I love traveling and doing landscape photography. I also love history, consider myself the family historian, and enjoy antiquing.
