Nice reaction to a funny, but close to disastrous, situation.
The intimate setting in this picture made it a bit unique. I liked how the photographer framed the photo and the good use of light.
I have to tell the truth that I fell in love with this moment upon first sight. I didn't bother to ponder it until after it was already a winner and I'll explain why. When imagery reaches a level like this, it is transported directly into our heart and mind. We don't have to think. We don't have to consider the where and why and how. Sometimes an image simply is. But it's easy to see why I reacted so viscerally - the quietness of this languid moment between bride and groom is permeating the room. The guests seem almost blushing to be in the presence of this romantic moment, as though they have been thrust into something so powerful, so strong that they feel unworthy to even cast a glance. I suspect the photographer felt that too and noticed the surroundings - recording the moment in full respect of an honest moment.
Beautiful image caught of the bride and good use of layering.
Well executed, good use of lines in the curtains to pull off a fairly standard picture extremely well. Unusual, candid and humorous moment. In a contest, a judge wants to see something different, unique. This fits the bill. The image symbolizes the attention given to the bride.
This is a very natural unexpected photo. The child’s reaction is precious. Overall, the photo has nice symmetry and a clean background.
So cute. A great candid moment.
The composition is strong in this image and packed with information. It tells a story and is designed very nicely.
I wish that there was just a one line caption to confirm what everyone is thinking as they look at this photograph. The photographer captured a moment that the bride and the family will remember forever. By waiting and “riding the light” (a term that magazine photographers use for putting the subject’s head between a spotlight and the camera) the photograph brought drama to this beautiful moment.
There's a quiet beauty to this very personal moment. Her peaceful expression is accentuated as she's framed by the strong backlight, and one takes away from the image feelings of love and contentment.
The contrast is very successful in this because the mother's (assumed) hands really pop out from the black fabric and background. You can see how much she loves her son by her body language.
