5 Documentary Wedding Photographers...

I live in the beautiful Norfolk Broads with my wife and two children. I have been photographing weddings since 2010. One of the best things in life is a good story and that's what my approach to photography is all about. I get a real buzz capturing those special moments, moments you might not remember or, perhaps, did not get to see. Even moments which, at the time, might have seemed insignificant will take on greater significance as the years roll by. Preferring to capture your day as it happens, I love working with couples who want to relax and enjoy their wedding day and not have to pose for photo after photo. I get my best images when you're just being yourselves - natural light and natural emotions! [Norfolk-UK Wedding Photographer]

Norfolk wedding reportage photography by Nikkala Faye Ades of England United Kingdom

My career as a photographer started whilst at college, studying an HND in Graphic Design back in 2010, I had gained previous experience of the photographic industry whilst exploring a very short stint in front of the camera, which I enjoyed. However, the urge to create the art myself became irresistible and I just knew I had to try it out. I picked up my first camera a Nikon D40 and this is where my dream of being a photographer began. I started photographing more for my college projects and local models to practice and perfect my work. At this point, I knew I had to start learning more about the technical side of photography, so I pushed my ideas in college and watched countless Youtube videos whilst gaining industry contacts within Norfolk and beyond. Soon I felt comfortable enough to begin photographing small events and doing commissions for local businesses. I then began to think about something I thought I would never have the chance of doing, University! Applying for University was probably the most nerve-racking time of my life closely followed by the interview! I just knew this was my path and I had to everything in my power that to make it happen, thankfully I left the interview that day completely gobsmacked with an unconditional offer to study a BA (HONS) Degree in Photography at Norwich University of the Arts. After finishing my Photography Degree at Norwich University of the Arts, I completed my first full wedding season as a ‘main shooter’ and have been in love with weddings ever since! Photography has been my life and passion for the last 10 years, and I wouldn't change it for anything. I also work in both the commercial photographic world and the wedding industry; as well as part-time for Nikon. This means I am fully immersed in the world of photography! Norfolk-UK wedding reportage photography by Tim Stephenson, of United Kingdom and England

I’m Tim Stephenson, the photographer behind Tim Stephenson Photography. I’m somewhere around the 40 mark, married to Angela since 2008 and Dad to our two usually wonderful children – Sam & Ellie. Based in Brooke, just outside of Norwich (Norfolk, UK), but shooting weddings just about anywhere, I’ve always had a passion for photography; starting with developing my own black & white film & prints many moons ago back in school. I shot my first wedding in 2008, quickly realised that I absolutely loved capturing the emotion & fun of the day – and it all kind of grew from there! After shooting a few early weddings for friends and family, I quickly realised that I absolutely love telling a story through images – and still can’t quite believe that I get to do what I adore doing! With every single wedding being unique and amazing in its own right, this isn’t something that ever gets old! Over the last few years, I’ve been honoured to shoot weddings at a whole host of wonderfully exquisite venues around the UK, including Norfolk & East Anglia – with repeat visits to some of the finest venues in our wonderful county. Oftentimes when people are considering a venue for their weddings, they search for a location away from home, whether that be ten minutes or ten hours, all just to find what they already have: a place that holds meaning for them, that feels comfortable, or that they find special and memorable. But what could hold more memory, meaning, and importance than your own home? For those looking for that perfect venue, it may not be any further than beyond your threshold.Read more
It’s no secret that these are strange times we’re going through right now, and there are many couples out there with weddings set in the near future who are left feeling uncertain and concerned about their futures. While that’s understandable, it’s also important to remember the reason you’re getting married in the first place; not for the grand celebration, but because you love each other and want to be together. REMEMBER WHAT'S IMPORTANT You’re in this position now, about to get married, for...Read more
Not everyone has a lagoon or glacier next door, but there's no rule saying you can't have a small wedding in the great outdoors. Take advantage of natural sunshine and that open, airy feeling and give your guests some room to breathe! LESS IS MORE Instead of hemming your guests in on all sides, give them some elbow room, and legroom, too. There's no need to induce claustrophobia when you've got a wide, open space. Let your guests take in the view, especially if you've got a spectacular one. You...Read more
We all know that the economy can go through some hard times, and be somewhat reminiscent of past recessions. However, as people cut back on non-essential little luxuries here and there, one constant remains: weddings. People don’t tend to just stop getting married due to a poor economy, nor should they! So, in an industry that keeps on going through thick and thin, what are some things to expect for the future, and what is really necessary to still make that wedding day memorable and...Read more

Everyone always says that your wedding day is all about you. But let’s face it; that’s not always actually the case. Many couples stress over guest lists, planning, expenses, and all the frills and traditions of your standard large wedding that they may or may not even be interested in. Fortunately, though, the concept of small weddings is becoming increasingly popular for couples who either want to be able to completely customize their day where and when they want with the option...Read more
