With every wedding I photograph I bring along 40+ years of photographic experience for my couples and their families. My approach allows everyone to fully enjoy the wedding because I will not overly direct and pose people. The day goes so quickly, and I believe couples deserve to have as much time as possible with family and friends. It is during these times that the moments are most sincerest. As a father of four beautiful children myself, I understand how precious family is, and how images captured today will be treasured, becoming irreplaceable in years to come. My goal for every couple is to provide images that tell the true story, heart, and soul of their wedding! [Melbourne Wedding Photographer]

Kia Ora - hello! I'm Liz, a documentary wedding and family photographer based in beautiful Christchurch, New Zealand. I grew up in sunny Sydney, Australia, and all of my extended family are there, but my husband and I, along with our four kids, have called New Zealand home for the past decade. I have loved photography for as long as I can remember; receiving my first film camera as an 8-year-old, I grew up behind the lens. But my greatest love is people - they're simply fascinating! Being a sociology student also helped to foster my love for the uniqueness of the human spirit and to hone my observation skills. I am passionate about telling personal stories through photography as a medium - there is so much depth that can be seen and felt through a simple gesture or a facial expression that words alone could never express. We had a photograph of my great-grandparents' wedding on the wall in our house and, as a child, I found it mesmerising. It always made me wonder about the tales they could have told and what their lives had been like when they were younger. Wedding documentary photography fosters this love of storytelling for me, especially because I know these images from your wedding will be cherished and passed on through generations, weaving together your family's legacy. No two stories are ever the same. In 2019 I was showcased at the Elevate and Grow photography exhibition in Austin, Texas. I am constantly refining my craft and honing my skills so that I can continue to provide you with the highest-quality product and experience to help make your wedding day truly memorable. I only shoot a limited number of weddings each year because I want to give my clients the time and attention they deserve. I love to travel so please get in touch even if your wedding is outside New Zealand. I also visit Australia frequently. I'm so looking forward to connecting with you, so let's grab a virtual (or real) coffee and chat. English is my primary language, however, I can also communicate with you in French or in New Zealand Sign Language (similar to BSL/Auslan). If you are deaf and would like me to photograph your wedding, I can chat with you via Glide or FaceTime/Skype. N.B. Due to Covid-19 travel restrictions in New Zealand at this time, I may be unable to travel to your location until restrictions are lifted. Please do get in touch and we can look at your options. Hi Alan, Our photos arrived yesterday! Thank you very much, you have captured our day perfectly. Even the moments we can’t remember because the day went so quickly. We will get back to you at some stage about the photos we’d like in our book. We won’t hesitate to recommend you to others! Thank you and Kind Regards, Lisa and Demetrius
Thank you so very much for sending through the photos, we really love them and they are a wonderful documentary of the best day of our lives. It was an amazing day and thank you for capturing the emotions and moments of us and our guests as well! We had many guests come up and tell us how gentle you were and how your presence made them feel at ease during the day. It is also wonderful to see so many moments that we missed during the whirlwind of our experiences during the day. Thank you so very much for being there to capture the little things :)
Hi Alan, Just wanted to let you know how happy James and I are with your work. Looking at them makes me feel like it was just yesterday and you really captured how the whole day felt. I can't take the smile off my face whenever I look at them. I don't know how I'm going to choose which ones to frame although I do have a few favorites. Your photos are a credit to you, feel free to use them on your website or social media. Thanks again. Rebecca & James
I have been meaning to email you for a few days, and the delay is certainly not any indication as to how over the moon we are with the little package that arrived in the mail last Friday! I got home to find it sitting on the counter, and after a long week at work, it was certainly the ‘picker-upper’ that we both needed going into the weekend. From the brown bag, to the beautifully printed photos, to even just how cool the USB stick is, we were excited before we even looked at all of the pictures on the USB. When we got to looking at the pictures, it was such a rush of emotion that came flooding back, because the photos are so emotional, so captivating, and so us. I can’t thank you enough for capturing the essence of the day, the love we have for each other, and the beauty of a corner of the world that has come to mean so much to us. You were such a calming force on a day filled with nerves and emotion, yet, I am having trouble finding the right words for expressing our gratitude for both your physical work (the photos) and your emotional work (your presence).
Hey Alan, We just got the USB photos yesterday and love them soooooo much. Still going over them all. I was right about the beach ones and I’m so glad we ended up doing that was a great idea :-) Michael and I are very glad we got you for our wedding. Thank-you, talk soon. Regards, Skye
