Elopement Photographers for Small Ireland Weddings

Shooting an elopement or small Munster wedding event is a wedding photojournalist’s dream: a fairly open schedule with lots of breathing space for creativity – it’s just the photographer, the couple, the officiant, and perhaps a few select companions.

Members are ready to document any civil ceremony, town hall, secret, or elopement wedding, even if it is a Monday-Thursday ceremony. Search for the “Can Shoot Weddings on Short Notice!” message on the listings below.

We are anxious to create a picture story chronicling your non-traditional, boutique, intimate, small wedding from beginning to end. In this sense, it is no different from any other event that we have covered. The emphasis is on documenting key moments, capturing spontaneous displays of emotion, telling your real love story, as well as creating artistic portraits and details.

Munster and Tipperary wedding photography and elopements by Enda Guerin of Ireland

I’m a wedding photographer based in Tipperary, Ireland. I photograph in a relaxed photo-documentary style mostly without being too obtrusive hopefully. I’m available for weddings and elopements all over Ireland. Being passionate about photography helps me capture the moments that matter to you, your family and your friends. I’m always looking for ways to improve my photography and myself. I feel we should try to remain open to ways of improving ourselves either through our work or on other aspects of our selves. I shoot using both natural ambient light and I also use flash when I feel the situation requires it, although when using flash I try not to make it seem apparent as this helps me maintain my own preferred style and feel for images that I like to produce. I’m available for weddings and elopements all over Ireland. I'm also available for destination weddings abroad. I work with couples from all backgrounds and cultures. Whatever your ethnicity or orientation is, is irrelevant, capturing genuine emotion and love between people is what’s more important to me. Outside of photography, my other interests are cooking, travel, keeping fit and the occasional Netflix binge. [Tipperary Wedding Photographer]

Limerick documentary wedding photography by Jamie Gillies - Munster and Ireland Pro

-A wedding photographer who loves the reportage-style. -I will happily travel to photograph for you, in fact, the more adventurous the location, the more I’m up for it! -I recently moved from my home of 30+ years in Kent and now find myself in county Limerick, Ireland! -Normally people say they love things, but I’m going to say I just really like traveling, hiking, football, and photography. -Recently joined a band as the bassist. It’s just a bit of fun. We recently did an 80’s themed Gig, I went in a Miami Heat style suit. -I have a YouTube Channel! It’s me rambling on about landscape photography. Some may say its award-winning, most (ok everyone) will say its unwatchable. [Limerick Wedding Photographer]

Lombardy and Milan is where you will find elopement and wedding photographer Stefano Ferrier

Hi, I’m Stefano Ferrier, sole photographer based in Milano, Italy. I work in Italy, Europe and worldwide. I’ve started my photography career in 2010, after various vicissitudes I went on to learn my studies in Photography from the Italian Institute of Photography, since 2000 to present a school leader in the field of vocational training in Italy. The studies about story of photography were for me a discovery on what had happened since 1839 up today; then I laid down the basics for my vocational path, a path that never ends since there are always new things to learn. There's also a lesson in every Wedding story. My beloved style is photojournalism, I love spontaneous and evocative emotions, sometimes i try to convert these moments in a creative beautiful way to capture things differently, I always challenge myself. Art has an advantage over the observed reality, has the power to transform it and surpass it. [Milan Wedding Photographer]

Kevin Kheffache is an Irish, documentary wedding photographer serving Leinster, Dublin and all of Ireland.

I've been taking photos since I've been a kid and my first real accolade came from my secondary school's annual photography competition for a photo of my pet dog (Dougal). That was on an old Pentax film camera and I've since moved onto digital cameras and shot my first wedding in 2015 with my wife, Annie (also a WPJA member and documentary wedding photographer) and now, over 100 weddings later, I've found my niche in wedding photojournalism. The challenge of capturing the emotion and individuality of the day, without interfering in the flow, makes each wedding I shoot a completely different experience and I love it for that. Leinster and County Meath wedding photography by Peter Rowen of Ireland

I’m a documentary wedding photographer based in County Meath, Ireland and I absolutely love what I do. I started shooting weddings back in 2002 and it’s been an epic adventure that’s taken me to every single corner of this gorgeous little island I live on. I’ve picked up a bunch of awards along the way including a very recent one from the US-based Wedding Photojournalist Association. My aim when I shoot a wedding is to observe and capture the day as it naturally unfolds. I don’t direct anything. This allows everyone to relax and just enjoy the moment. I love to tell the story of the day, to capture the true atmosphere so that when you look back at my pictures you’ll not only remember how it looked but how it felt. A little about myself… I live just 20 km outside Dublin City in the countryside of County Meath with my wife Natalia and my 5-year-old son Zac. In my spare time, I love to mountain bike, snowboard and ride my motorcycle. [County Meath Wedding Photographer]

David Gilmartin is an Authentic Wedding Photographer from Dublin

I have been a professional wedding photographer since 2009, but I have had a lifelong interest in photography. I worked in a photo lab in the early 1980’s. My photography became more serious when children started arriving. I shot on film until the end of the 1990’s and then dabbled with digital photography until purchasing a digital SLR in 2004. I shoot digital images at weddings and most professional portrait sessions. Digital images make my workflow shorter. I do shoot film for my personal work and for some weddings. I grew up in Sligo and have lived in Dublin for most of my adult life. My partner Susan keeps me pointed in the right direction and has been a tremendous support in everything that I do. I have five wonderful, talented children. Two of them are still little guys and keep us very busy. Apart from all things photographic, I have an eclectic taste in music and enjoy movies. I am an electronics hacker/maker and a self-confessed computer geek. In a previous career, I worked with a number of multinational corporations. I have lived and worked in the US and spent extended periods working in Asia and across Europe. [Dublin Wedding Photographer]

Ireland and Dublin wedding reportage photographs are favored by Sebastian Felisiak

Photography is an extension of who I am. Since a very young age, I’ve been capturing life on film and my passion has only grown since. Creativity is vital to me. Welcoming a unique perspective with every shoot, I put so much passion into everything I do. This is more than art to me, it’s a life. And I love every second of it. My absolute love for beauty, sentiment, and emotion is revealed in every photograph that I take. I love to embrace the simplicity of life, the most profound yet forgotten elements of our lives, and capture them so they can be remembered for years. My focus is on making the ordinary extraodinary. Because that’s exactly how life is, right? As much as I love photography, it’s not the focal point of my life. That space is reserved for my family. My entire world has been changed since marrying the love of my life and becoming a father. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for anything better. When I’m not behind a camera, I’m taking snapshots in my mind as I cherish every moment with my beautiful family. I never want to take a single laugh or tear for granted. Ever. Life is important to me. Really living life. And that’s why I love what I do. Working throughout Ireland, I am passionate about making wedding days special from the ambience to the timeless images you walk away with. When I stare through that lens it’s more than job. My focus is on relationships and emotions—something I am so intrigued by. With a fun, relaxed, artistic, and innovative approach, I’ve created a style that will truly highlight the most subtle and beautiful parts of your big day. From emotion and light to colour and overall vision, it’s my job to tell a story through my lens. And your romance is my story. [Dublin Wedding Photographer]

Leinster and County Wexford wedding photography by Ryan Devereux of Ireland

My career in photography started just 5 years ago, but my photography journey goes back about 12 years to my Art school days in Waterford IT on the south coast of Ireland. Later I completed a Masters in Photography in Dublin. I photographed my first wedding in 2015, & haven't really looked back. I can't say that I wanted to become a wedding photographer but once I had photographed a few, I began to realise that not only could I make a living doing it, it was actually quite fulfilling and rewarding, providing I could work in my own documentary style. As of early 2020, I've photographed over 200 weddings in Ireland (& one in France). Outside of wedding photography, I spend a lot of time working on my street photography both at home & abroad. Wedding photography has allowed me the breathing room to explore other areas of photography & I hope to begin work on some documentary projects in the coming year. Thanks for reading, Ryan [County Wexford Wedding Photographer]

WPJA Communiqué: Features
It’s no secret that these are strange times we’re going through right now, and there are many couples out there with weddings set in the near future who are left feeling uncertain and concerned about their futures. While that’s understandable, it’s also important to remember the reason you’re getting married in the first place; not for the grand celebration, but because you love each other and want to be together. REMEMBER WHAT'S IMPORTANT You’re in this position now, about to get married, for...Read more

So your wedding is just around the corner and you’ve decided to elope , either because you want to do this on a budget , avoid a large wedding party, or simply to enjoy the day together with minimal distractions and as little stress as possible . They say 'all you need is love', but where exactly can you afford to trim the fat, so to speak? You want simplicity, but you also want to be properly married and, surely, to remember this occasion. Who, then, could be more important than...Read more
Not everyone has a lagoon or glacier next door, but there's no rule saying you can't have a small wedding in the great outdoors. Take advantage of natural sunshine and that open, airy feeling and give your guests some room to breathe! LESS IS MORE Instead of hemming your guests in on all sides, give them some elbow room, and legroom, too. There's no need to induce claustrophobia when you've got a wide, open space. Let your guests take in the view, especially if you've got a spectacular one. You...Read more
WHAT EXACTLY DOES IT MEAN TO ELOPE? If you look up the definition of “elope” in the Merriam-Webster dictionary , you’ll find a plethora of meanings making it quite clear how polarizing the word has become, and how it has transformed and evolved with the passage of time and even personal preference.Read more

While some of us were fortunate enough to be born as extroverts, not everyone feels the same way. For a good chunk of the population, any number of the typical wedding day traditions can inspire anxiety and existential dread. This day is all about you, yes, but does that mean all the attention has to be on you as well? FROM VOWS TO CHITCHAT, WHICH REMAINS SACRED? Traditional weddings often require some degree of performance on the part of the couple, whether that is in the form of reciting...Read more

Everyone always says that your wedding day is all about you. But let’s face it; that’s not always actually the case. Many couples stress over guest lists, planning, expenses, and all the frills and traditions of your standard large wedding that they may or may not even be interested in. Fortunately, though, the concept of small weddings is becoming increasingly popular for couples who either want to be able to completely customize their day where and when they want with the option...Read more
