Photography at Destination Weddings by Frederic Rejaudry, of Caribbean

I was born in 1977 in Martinique. I've graduated from a software engineer school in 2000 in Valenciennes, France. And I worked as a software engineer from 2000 to 2008 in Paris. In 2006, I started to study photography and got my Photography Professional Certificate in 2008. That's when I decided to go back home to Martinique, and found Malmoth Wedding Photography. Now, I shoot 20 weddings a year, and I have shot more than 150 weddings since 2008. I'm mainly influenced by humanist photographers like Willy Ronis, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Doisneau. I love the genuine candid moments they have photographed and I try to transpose this vision to weddings. Even though I mainly photograph in color. [Martinique Wedding Photographer]

Photo of the Bride & Groom living in their own little world just moments after the ceremony | Romantic Wedding Photos
The first time you envisioned your wedding, you probably didn’t see a long list of details to attend to, decisions to be made or negotiations to be undertaken. Surely, your vision involved you and your partner. It was filled with tenderness, sweet melodies, pure bliss…and romance. After all, a wedding is romantic—the consummation of your everlasting love. A skilled wedding photojournalist knows how to anticipate and capture situations that convey those special feelings. When the day is over,...Read more
Cake cutting photograph with the bride and groom deciding if they should smash or not smash the cake.
No other tradition during the wedding day should rely as heavily on improvisation as the cake cutting. Those entrenched in the traditional camp may want to offer guidelines on where to stand, how to cut the cake and when to smile for the camera, but their promptings need not be followed for a thoroughly memorable experience. In fact, not following the “rules” is frequently what makes the cake cutting unforgettable. This time-honored ritual can turn into an entertaining affair with...Read more
Creative and Professional Wedding Photography from the Reception
Like many brides and grooms, your wedding could be the first time you’ll be hiring a creative professional. You might think the ins and outs of working with a wedding photographer are as simple as writing a check. What could be so difficult, right? But just ask any talented pro, and you’ll get a grateful explanation as to why it’s so important to truly understand their creative process. How you manage your relationship with a wedding photographer can have just as profound an...Read more
Denis Gostev, of New York, is a wedding photographer for St. Francis Xavier Church
You can argue that of all the photos on your wedding day, the ones taken during the ceremony are the most meaningful—that’s why you’re there, right? It’s ironic, then, that wedding photojournalists regularly have the most trouble shooting their best work in the churches where these very ceremonies take place. Often times, significant moments unfold in front of camera lenses that are too far away, positioned at awkward angles, and photographers are forced to operate under...Read more
Pictures of the Bridal party celebrating while riding from the ceremony to the reception on a party bus.
Weddings are a time to honor tradition, commitment and family. But as any wedding photojournalist knows, they’re also a great time for people to come together and cut loose. To capture all those spontaneous moments that will be talked about for years to come, a wedding photographer needs a quick eye and a good camera—oh, and a sense of humor doesn’t hurt either. With these tools in hand, your guests are guaranteed a chance to relive the day in all its uninhibited glory.Read more
Creative Portraits and wedding photography | Bride & groom portrait walking in front of colorful wall outside
Portraits are part of every wedding, of course, but some photos have the ability to sear themselves into the memory, providing an unforgettable image that rises above the common convention. Wedding photojournalists shooting portraits work within an expanded set of parameters, just like their counterparts in the news world: Some direction and setup is acceptable in order to fully capture subjects in the context of who they are and what they are feeling. Yet everyone approaches wedding portraits...Read more

Karen & Paul

Thank you both, so much, for the time and work you put into our wedding week. We know the photographs will be incredible, and we are excited to see them! You were such a pleasure to have around, everyone said they enjoyed working with you and spending time with you - including the planner, Jerry, and all of the guests. My parents, especially, spoke very highly of you and enjoyed spending time with you Thursday night at dinner. Paul and I look forward with great anticipation to seeing the album teaser - we have been excited from the day we hired you, to see how you record memories of our wedding in your unique and fantastic style! We hope you are having a great week, Karen (and Paul)
