YOU CAN'T STOP LOVE - In recent days, some of our Ireland photographers have expressed their desire to accommodate couples who don’t want to wait to be married and are rushing the ceremony.
Many brides and grooms around the globe are planning to elope and deciding to reschedule their original ideas for a big event because of current covid restrictions, social distancing, and mask requirements. They are getting wed on a whim, but dispensing with or postponing all else.
The WPJA has an abundance of top-ranked, documentary-style elopement photographers who are available right now who understand that some weddings can’t wait. Find yours today!
Elopement Photographers for Small Munster Weddings
Shooting an elopement or small Kerry wedding event is a wedding photojournalist’s dream: a fairly open schedule with lots of breathing space for creativity – it’s just the photographer, the couple, the officiant, and perhaps a few select companions.
Members are ready to document any town hall, justice of the peace, civil ceremony, or elopement wedding, even if it is a Monday-Thursday ceremony. Search for the “Can Shoot Weddings on Short Notice!” message on the listings below.
We are anxious to create a picture story chronicling your symbolic, boutique, outdoor, small wedding from beginning to end. In this sense, it is no different from any other event that we have covered. The emphasis is on documenting key moments, capturing spontaneous displays of emotion, telling your real love story, as well as creating artistic portraits and details.

I've been taking photos since I've been a kid and my first real accolade came from my secondary school's annual photography competition for a photo of my pet dog (Dougal). That was on an old Pentax film camera and I've since moved onto digital cameras and shot my first wedding in 2015 with my wife, Annie (also a WPJA member and documentary wedding photographer) and now, over 100 weddings later, I've found my niche in wedding photojournalism. The challenge of capturing the emotion and individuality of the day, without interfering in the flow, makes each wedding I shoot a completely different experience and I love it for that. A lifelong passion, Shane O’Neill’s photography is as much a pleasure as it is a business. From weddings and portraits to commercial and media, his work is at once edgy and earthy, funky and fashionable. [Waterford Wedding Photographer]
I’m a wedding photographer based in Tipperary, Ireland. I photograph in a relaxed photo-documentary style mostly without being too obtrusive hopefully. I’m available for weddings and elopements all over Ireland. Being passionate about photography helps me capture the moments that matter to you, your family and your friends. I’m always looking for ways to improve my photography and myself. I feel we should try to remain open to ways of improving ourselves either through our work or on other aspects of our selves. I shoot using both natural ambient light and I also use flash when I feel the situation requires it, although when using flash I try not to make it seem apparent as this helps me maintain my own preferred style and feel for images that I like to produce. I’m available for weddings and elopements all over Ireland. I'm also available for destination weddings abroad. I work with couples from all backgrounds and cultures. Whatever your ethnicity or orientation is, is irrelevant, capturing genuine emotion and love between people is what’s more important to me. Outside of photography, my other interests are cooking, travel, keeping fit and the occasional Netflix binge. [Tipperary Wedding Photographer]
Photography is an extension of who I am. Since a very young age, I’ve been capturing life on film and my passion has only grown since. Creativity is vital to me. Welcoming a unique perspective with every shoot, I put so much passion into everything I do. This is more than art to me, it’s a life. And I love every second of it. My absolute love for beauty, sentiment, and emotion is revealed in every photograph that I take. I love to embrace the simplicity of life, the most profound yet forgotten elements of our lives, and capture them so they can be remembered for years. My focus is on making the ordinary extraodinary. Because that’s exactly how life is, right? As much as I love photography, it’s not the focal point of my life. That space is reserved for my family. My entire world has been changed since marrying the love of my life and becoming a father. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for anything better. When I’m not behind a camera, I’m taking snapshots in my mind as I cherish every moment with my beautiful family. I never want to take a single laugh or tear for granted. Ever. Life is important to me. Really living life. And that’s why I love what I do. Working throughout Ireland, I am passionate about making wedding days special from the ambience to the timeless images you walk away with. When I stare through that lens it’s more than job. My focus is on relationships and emotions—something I am so intrigued by. With a fun, relaxed, artistic, and innovative approach, I’ve created a style that will truly highlight the most subtle and beautiful parts of your big day. From emotion and light to colour and overall vision, it’s my job to tell a story through my lens. And your romance is my story. [Dublin Wedding Photographer]
