WPJA 2012 Photographer of the Year.
The importance of having a professional photographer at your wedding can’t be understated – a seasoned pro captures all of the emotions of your big day naturally, unobtrusively, and beautifully.
I bring my unique style of photojournalism to your wedding or portrait session, and together we can create beautiful images using natural light, creative settings, and non-traditional techniques.
Award Winning Photos
The Wedding Photojournalist Association proudly recognizes the accomplishments and creative excellence of Steve. The following awards have been earned by Steve from the WPJA. These achievements come with great merit considering the high level of competition that a member faces in the contests.
A nice, classic detail in its approach and execution. Love that one drop of honey on the bride’s finger.
So much money is spent on a wedding dress and for this moment, it caught the details of the dress but in such a way that it also captures her figure, kinda sexy.
Good combination of documenting the dress and creating an artistic image. The light is terrific and the composition is very powerful.
The light was great and the position of the photographer was perfect to catch the little moment between bride and groom. Well done.
What a fantastic moment with a high-five between bride and groom as they exit the ceremony...past a lone guest who clasps her hands together in silent approval…past the dappled light that scatters across the aisle like the lingering rose petals dropped by a child...on their path from the altar and toward a hopeful life together. This is a moment indeed.
Great use of reflection. Very well composed.
I like the perfect symmetry in this image and the contrast between the lights and the situated couple.
The photographer made a tough lighting situation into a nice graphic frame that showed off the decorations and showed the bride and groom
I really like photographers who can catch those fleeting, spontaneous moments - especially the funny ones.
A hilarious 'boys will be boys' moment.
One of my favorite photos from the contest. Very Helmut Newton. Stood out immediately.
I love the body language in this photo. And the glance of the bride is a really terrific candid moment, it was obvious that the photographer had developed a good rapport with the subjects.
Elegant with lovely lines contrasted well against the while dress.
This is a photograph of simple elegance as a bridesmaid kneels at the alter next to the bride. The juxtaposition of something ornate, like the bridal gown and shoes when muted by that glossy floor creates a silky pattern of reverence.
Great framing and isolation of an intimate moment.
A clean and simple image framed well by the silhouetted dancers effectively captures the kiss between the bride and groom preserving their private moment without intruding.
There's a lot of energy during receptions, if this set of photos is any indication. Most of these photos try to make sense of the chaos. This photographer found a little moment of peace that gives us a glimpse into the lives of the people photographed. Nicely done.
The combination of the patterns and shadows bring you to the couple. Add the light to the equation and you have a wonderful picture. Everything just seems to work for this image.
