CHAYASUTRA

Sougata Mishra, who is a postgraduate in Pharmaceutics and a Research Scientist, understood his instincts, not very soon, that he isn’t cut out for the industry he is working in. His passion for creating stories about love and life through his camera, made him switch from a stabilized profession of an ‘Industrial Researcher’ to a ‘Professional Wedding Photographer’. He initiated his dream venture ‘Chayasutra’ in 2015 and over these years, he has carved out an astounding place for himself in such a promising industry. Sougata leads his team of creative photographers, who travel extensively in diverse cities across the country and capture candid moments and life events of the people. He candidly shares “Our team believes in capturing emotions rather than just clicking pictures of people and places”. They have rich experience in both the technical know-how of the gear involved and the artistic approach with which they capture moments. The moment capturer, Sougata Mishra says, “We are always on our toes to showcase the best of our talent to a larger audience”. Talking about the sense of gratification he perceives for choosing his career as an artist, he softly adds “After, all the work we accomplish in a project, it’s the billion-dollar smile that I get to see on our client’s face, which motivates me to perform better each day”. The wedding photographer is also inspired by the work of the famous ‘Two Mann Studios’ and gets a load of motivational speeches by ‘Sandeep Maheshwari’. However, it was a rough start for Sougata in the initial years of his venture. With no prior experience or study in photography, he incurred a loss of around 70k in the first year. Continuous back pulling from friends and relatives worsened his difficulties. But his family supported him through all the rough patches. Plus his experiences taught him to deliver more than expected outcomes to his clients. Over the due course of time, he was able to tap the potential in the Wedding photography industry, which is a promising industry generating handsome revenues in the market today. Sougata discloses “Each time I find faults within myself, I work on understanding and correcting them. I am always keen for learning and finding solutions to impart the best of services to our clients”.
