Isabelle Dohin is a wedding photographer based in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France.

I discovered photography at an early age because I was lucky that Dad was a photo enthusiast and we had, at home, a dark room, in which I loved to lose myself! The silver was my first love, then very quickly the digital with its innumerable possibilities to preserve preciously, like a treasure, your sweetest memories. I live near Bordeaux and I travel all over France and abroad to make your memories unforgettable moments ... Because my family is my source of happiness, because I'm in love with lovers and weddings, I really like to take pictures that mark your history... I used to say about myself that I am the "photographer of your emotions" and I try to capture these details that are so important, so magic on this special day. I love the art of any form, I love to travel and discovering another culture, I love people and life with a big "L"! Florent Fauqueux, La Rochelle Wedding Photographer for Charente-Maritime, France

Why am I a photographer? Because I don't know how to sing :) In fact, it's the shortest way I've found to touch people's hearts ... Since the birth of my son in 2010, the portrait fascinates me, the beauty of a face, the harmony of a silhouette ... I marvel at the daily diversity of our bodies and our faces. A few years later, with the arrival of my daughter, this quest for aesthetics has evolved. I understood that an image was nothing without an intention, a laugh, a feeling ... This is how the family has become my greatest source of inspiration. I feel today a deep joy to give you my vision of the small daily happiness, as great moments of life! In short, I found what really matters. [La Rochelle Wedding Photographer]

David Page is a wedding photojournalist now in the Limousin region of France

I am a British born wedding photojournalist now living in the Aquitaine region of France with my wife and young family. A professional photographer since 2002. My original passion in photography was for black and white fine art images and I do still continue to exhibit my fine art work here in France. My work then progressed to portrait photography and I was always drawn to the natural, real image of a person not posed and formal but something that really showed a persons character. My portrait style and client contacts then took me into the world of wedding photography. I just continued taking photographs as I saw the moments unfold on the wedding day. My clients liked the informal and discrete way that I photographed the weddings and the results were well received. I personally took a great deal of pleasure from those first few weddings, what better event for a photographer to capture a wealth of emotions, the spectacle, the excitement, the romance, the fun and the glamour? I love the wedding photography here in France. Every wedding is unique, individual in its character and emotions and it is immensely satisfying for me as a photographer to have the privilege to be a part of the day and to write that special story in images. It is amazing for me to think that the images I take will be there acting as a memory of a truly unique and special day for the Bride and Groom for so many years to come. France the land of love and romance. [Lot-et-Garonne Wedding Photographer]

Pierre-Yves Queignec is a Paris wedding photographer for France

The creative and graphic sense of my pictures is for me a constant obsession, I play with lights, shadows, composition, speed, and colors. I do my best to deliver as many beautiful pictures as possible. Before the wedding, it is important for me to meet both of the bride and groom in order to build a bond of trust which will allow the couple to feel comfortable in front of me and my camera during the wedding day : the goal, as always is to capture natural moments of love, happiness, emotion, and complicity between the bride and groom. In love with my city (and also my wife!), I know Paris like my pocket and I love shooting love sessions, elopement weddings or engagement sessions with the couples in secret places in the "Paris des Lumières! » I am used to traveling in the countryside and also abroad if the future bride and groom need me to travel with them. I speak English, Italian, Spanish if you don't feel comfortable in French and, of course, I can travel as far as your wedding will bring you (even to the Moon and back)! [Paris Wedding Photographer]

Wedding photograph with layers | Image of the groom coming into the ceremony outdoors
Anyone who’s been to a wedding knows there’s nothing simple about the photographer’s job. After all, it’s called a milestone for a reason. One of the best compositional strategies for a wedding photojournalist is to focus on images with depth. Deep photos, like...Read more
Cake cutting photograph with the bride and groom deciding if they should smash or not smash the cake.
No other tradition during the wedding day should rely as heavily on improvisation as the cake cutting. Those entrenched in the traditional camp may want to offer guidelines on where to stand, how to cut the cake and when to smile for the camera, but their promptings need not be followed for a thoroughly memorable experience. In fact, not following the “rules” is frequently what makes the cake cutting unforgettable. This time-honored ritual can turn into an entertaining affair with...Read more

Photo of the Bride & Groom with the guests caught in the rain running for cover.
You will be told some traditions — Hindu, Maltese — consider rain a good omen on a wedding day. You will be told a wet knot is harder to untie. You may — correctly — think that if the two of you can face the day's elements with aplomb and grace, you're more likely to face life's challenges with strength and flexibility. The truth is, you can plan for the possibility of rain on your wedding day . (If it's an outdoor wedding and depending on the climate, in...Read more
Wedding Photograph taken as bridesmaids see bride in her dress for the first time and showing their reactions
To document the best moments of a wedding day, a photographer shouldn’t only focus on the bride and groom , or even on the main event. "Reaction shots," which record the reactions of guests observing the wedding’s activities as they occur, add an invaluable dimension to the visual record of the festivities. “I was constantly given a gentle reminder to look beyond the obvious action while covering sports assignments while on staff at The Hartford Courant newspaper,...Read more
