Elopement Photographers for Small Europe Weddings

Shooting an elopement or small Cyprus wedding event is a wedding photojournalist’s dream: a fairly open schedule with lots of breathing space for creativity – it’s just the photographer, the couple, the officiant, and perhaps a few select companions.

Members are ready to document any pop-up, themed, courthouse, or elopement wedding, even if it is a Monday-Thursday ceremony. Search for the “Can Shoot Weddings on Short Notice!” message on the listings below.

We are anxious to create a picture story chronicling your casual, non-traditional, intimate, small wedding from beginning to end. In this sense, it is no different from any other event that we have covered. The emphasis is on documenting key moments, capturing spontaneous displays of emotion, telling your real love story, as well as creating artistic portraits and details.

Thessaloniki wedding and elopement photography by Vasilis Maneas of Greece

Selected as 1 of 25 International Wedding Photographers from across the World by BRIDES MAGAZINE UK for the year 2014, awarded Member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association and the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association, which includes only the best wedding photographers in the world, Vasilis Maneas was born and raised in the city of Veria, Greece and at 2002 he left to study "Informatics and Computer Technology" at the Technological Educational Institute of Lamia, Greece. He successfully completed his studies after 3,5 years although the average was 5 and he graduated with honors as one of the top 3 students of the year. After that, he became the youngest Informatics Professor at 2 educational institutions. Later on, he started his Master in "Digital Media" at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and at the same time, he started to study wedding photography and learned how to combine the "knowledge with the talent". Wanting to learn how to manage the emotional situations that prevail in a special day like that of a wedding, at 2017 he was trained in Dublin, Ireland as an "NLP Mind Coach" and he was certified as a Licensed Practitioner of NLP™ and as a Licensed Master Practitioner of NLP™ from the co-founder of NLP, Dr. Richard Bandler of The Society of NLP™ and from The Irish Institute of NLP™. After that, at 2018 he went to Orlando, USA where he was trained and certified by Dr. Richard Bandler himself, as a "Licensed Trainer of NLP™ ". As a result of that, he started to coach and guide individuals, families, couples, and businesses and he started his second business. He is the first and the only photographer ever who is also a certified professional in the field of personal consulting and self - improvement. He believes that having the talent to "see" a moment and the knowledge to "click" this moment makes the perfect combination. He works as a wedding photographer at Thessaloniki, Greece where his headquarters are but he also travels everywhere in Greece or abroad. [Thessaloniki Wedding Photographer]

England and Gloucestershire wedding reportage and elopement photography by Jonny Barratt of the United Kingdom

Heeeere’s Jonny! Ok, I’ll spare you all those gags (hilarious the first fifty times, afterward not so much) and get right to it. If you’re planning the biggest party of your life right now and want a documentary wedding photographer to capture all the cray in a way that’s honest and fuss-free then welcome to my humble little profile. I'm guessing you want to know who this random and curiously handsome (ahem) man pitching to photograph your wedding is. Of course, you do! I would as well. After all, I want to spend one of the biggest days of your life with you so it’s important to know that we’ll get along. It makes my job a lot more fun and the photography just that bit more awesome. So, in a nutshell, I’m a documentary wedding photographer based in Gloucestershire, the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds. I travel all over the UK and beyond to capture wedding celebrations in my alternative, photojournalistic style. That’s me in the picture looking all arty. Out of shot is my wife Rosa pulling faces with our baby daughter whilst our crazy basset hound chases its own tail. This is totally a cliche but I genuinely love what I do. I'm so lucky this has been my full-time job for over three years now but I’ve been taking photos for far longer. I studied Image Production at college (which seems like a LOOONG time ago now) and that’s where it all started. I like to travel to far-flung corners of the earth and plan adventures. I’ve ridden a bike the length of Vietnam, climbed mountains in the Himalayas, sought out the Northern Lights and travelled Europe extensively in a campervan. I once ran 54 miles in one day, Forest Gump style. My adventure-seeking has slowed down a smidgen since my daughter came along but I still love to plan little getaways with the family. When it comes to shooting weddings it's all about natural story-telling images. This for me is all about capturing the emotions and energy of the day without staging anything, posing anyone, setting up moments or shouting directions. Don’t fret- I still shoot all the beautiful details, parents still get that must-have family photo for their mantlepiece, and if you create some time alone with your partner I can capture the two of you together, loved-up and freshly married! While I do appreciate the wealth of outstanding talent in the wedding photography world, I try not to obsess over my contemporaries too much. I feel it can become counter-productive in searching for my own voice. Instead, I tend to feel inspired by other genres: travel and street photography, for example. And I draw a lot of inspo from the place where I live; Gloucestershire countryside is gorgeous darling, even if the phone signal can be a bit rubbish. With the fear of waffling on for too long here’s my quick-fire top reasons why I could be the right photographer for you: 1. I’m the real thing. What I mean here is, recently, you may have noticed a trend for my style of photography. Words like “photojournalism” and “reportage” are getting chucked around like confetti. But I’m a pose-free, cheese-free zone and promise to offer you docu-style photography in its purest form. 2. I’m no-nonsense. I know that this is your day, not mine. You won’t catch me shouting at guests to “Smile!” or arranging people. You’ll barely know I’m there. 3. I’m a great guy. All my mates say so. Well, some of them. But seriously, I’ll blend in and mix with your guests in a friendly, engaging way. I won’t be hiding in bushes paparazzi style. Getting up close and in the middle of all the action is how I get my best images. 4. I don’t want to miss a thing. As a wedding photographer, I want to be there for the wedding in its entirety. I offer unlimited coverage, that way I get to stay for the party! During the day my main focus is people (I love people), but I’ll make sure I get all those intricate little details too. 5. I’m not allergic to group photos. I won't shy away from these, I’m always happy to fit a few in. I do them in my own way and always inject a bit of fun. I’d recommend doing only a handful (you gotta get back to that party, after all) but I know how important it is to get a few family ones. After all, we need to keep Mum happy. So, if you appreciate photography and are passionate about your wedding images, let's collaborate to create something truly great. Get in touch AS SOON AS POSSIBLE because, like all good snappers, I get booked up pretty sharpish especially for those summer months. I can only shoot around 35 weddings a year (I’m told I do need to actually see my wife and child occasionally) plus each wedding needs my full attention so I’m careful not to overbook myself. I can’t work with everyone who enquires (I wish I could) but if you think your wedding and my creative documentary approach would be an unbeatable combo then contact me and we’ll start talking. While some of us were fortunate enough to be born as extroverts, not everyone feels the same way. For a good chunk of the population, any number of the typical wedding day traditions can inspire anxiety and existential dread. This day is all about you, yes, but does that mean all the attention has to be on you as well? FROM VOWS TO CHITCHAT, WHICH REMAINS SACRED? Traditional weddings often require some degree of performance on the part of the couple, whether that is in the form of reciting...Read more

Oftentimes when people are considering a venue for their weddings, they search for a location away from home, whether that be ten minutes or ten hours, all just to find what they already have: a place that holds meaning for them, that feels comfortable, or that they find special and memorable. But what could hold more memory, meaning, and importance than your own home? For those looking for that perfect venue, it may not be any further than beyond your threshold.Read more

Some couples, as they begin planning for their weddings, might think that they are limited to the classic locations: churches, gardens, beaches, or even Las Vegas. But in doing so they’re missing out on a multitude of unique options that might suit their personalities much better! Why limit yourself to a quiet, quaint ceremony when your adventurous heart may be calling out for something more? An entirely different genre of wedding, so to speak, is the adventure wedding elopement. This concept...Read more
Not everyone has a lagoon or glacier next door, but there's no rule saying you can't have a small wedding in the great outdoors. Take advantage of natural sunshine and that open, airy feeling and give your guests some room to breathe! LESS IS MORE Instead of hemming your guests in on all sides, give them some elbow room, and legroom, too. There's no need to induce claustrophobia when you've got a wide, open space. Let your guests take in the view, especially if you've got a spectacular one. You...Read more

While some people live for the hustle and bustle of a big wedding with extravagant décor and an impossibly long guest list, others find these kinds of weddings to be too much hoopla, preferring instead something simpler and quieter, allowing for more intimacy between them and their fiancés on this special day. So how do you infuse your wedding with all the romance but none of the fuss? ALONE AT LAST Many couples these days are opting to elope rather than planning a large wedding. For the no-...Read more

Everyone always says that your wedding day is all about you. But let’s face it; that’s not always actually the case. Many couples stress over guest lists, planning, expenses, and all the frills and traditions of your standard large wedding that they may or may not even be interested in. Fortunately, though, the concept of small weddings is becoming increasingly popular for couples who either want to be able to completely customize their day where and when they want with the option...Read more

We are very happy with the photographs – they really capture the emotions of the day. A lot of them are highly artistic, resembling a painting that you could hang up and admire. We were also amazed by how quickly we got the photographs back (one week after the wedding!) which is lovely if you want to beat the wedding blues. Thanks so much guys!
