Award Winning Photos
The Wedding Photojournalist Association proudly recognizes the accomplishments and creative excellence of David. The following awards have been earned by David from the WPJA. These achievements come with great merit considering the high level of competition that a member faces in the contests.
Two is always better than one, in my book. But there is like 10 people in this photo all having some kind of emotional breakdown or something. So it must be good! Seriously, the framing of the two groups helps show the scale of the moment. Having the one good face kept it simple, though.
Every element of this photograph, with all the hugs accenting the expression on the face of the woman seated conveys the emotions of the moment.
Here's another fun moment that won't be forgotten as a bridesmaid takes her precarious perch on the arm of a chair. But there's more here than meets the eye. The photo works through a combination of leading lines and negative space, the latter framed by the angled ceiling to capture the viewers eyes in a perpetual circle that moves from the bottom of the dress to the top and back again. It's classic photojournalism done well.
