As a little girl, I was surrounded by artists in my family, so it was a natural step for me to find a love of photography very early. I tried my hand at a course as a Sophomore in High School and immediately found myself winning state-wide competitions, which only drove me to love photography even more. I knew I wanted to make photography my full-time gig even then, but didn't know how until I became a stay-at-home mom with my daughter. I gave myself a 1 year deadline to make it happen, so I dove in head first. In February of 2006 I rented a booth at a bridal festival with photos of my daughter and my dog as my portfolio. I asked EVERY person that walked by my booth to take a chance on me because I knew it was my destiny... I booked 14 weddings from that festival and never looked back!
I'm proud to say that after years of honing my skills with lots of practice and continuing education, I know how to work well under pressure and handle any lighting or photo challenges that are thrown at me in a timely, laid-back manner. I have also become a master of working under high-stress conditions, while still being emotionally available, connected, and inspired by my clients. Because of this, couples who work with me get to remember their most sincere wedding moments with touching photographs.
Award Winning Photos
The Wedding Photojournalist Association proudly recognizes the accomplishments and creative excellence of Alison. The following awards have been earned by Alison from the WPJA. These achievements come with great merit considering the high level of competition that a member faces in the contests.
Just a fun portrait that reflects the personality of the groom’s party. With portraits the photographer can put themselves more in the picture. I think this is a good example of that.
Fun and funny. All about her expression.
Accidents do happen. Nice moment prior to transport.
Nice angle for a fun moment.
Great faces for all the girls in the photo, including those reflected in the mirror. Clearly the stand-out in this category. Might have cropped a bit from the top to avoid the slight reflection of the photographer (though it's not apparent at first).
Scary, yet fun. I'm not sure why I think there was a lot of alcohol being consumed at this reception, but... Way to fill the frame. Great subjects throughout the frame. The bride sitting tall, prim and proper is also a funny touch. These guys are going to be remembering this image for a long, long time.
Great idea. This layered detail says so much about the people attending the wedding and the type of music they listen to--simply.

Hey Alison! A co-worker of mine received her daughter's 6 month photoshoot from her photographer and the pictures were horrible and she paid really good money for them. To top it off, the photographer isn't really working with her to make it right. To make a long story short, I just want to say thank you again for being so great!! I never had to worry that something would go wrong - in fact (and this is no joke) on our wedding day I was flustered with how the day had gone until you showed up at the church and I knew that everything would be ok (I even told Luke and Cait that this is the reason why they HAD to choose you). After hearing about the experience she had, I'm even more thankful that we chose you to be our photographer! We plan to keep using you because you're the best in our books!!
