The bride, groom, and their friends rented a house in Tahoe City with a sweeping view of Lake Tahoe. The wedding ceremony was on the deck.
Kimberly and Mike wanted a small wedding in a beautiful location. They found a great place to spend the weekend in Tahoe City, and invited four of their closest friends. Their son Oliver came along as well, and Kimberly is pregnant with a little girl! The house where they stayed has a large deck overlooking Lake Tahoe. It was a great place for a small outdoor wedding ceremony.
A mini wedding like this is different from a large wedding on several levels. One of the main benefits I continue to see at events like this is that without a strict timeline, there is less stress overall. In this case, we chose a ceremony time and then decided on a photography start/finish time that sounded good to everyone. After the ceremony, they planned to order takeout from a great restaurant in town. That was essentially the itinerary for the day!
As everyone got ready for the ceremony, it became clear that this was a big day for their son as well. It felt like this was a wedding for three people, not just two. I enjoyed photographing Oliver's big day as much as I enjoyed photographing Kimberly and Mike's big day!
