Shannon and Afsheen were supposed to have an Assyrian wedding scheduled to take place in New York City this year. However, after announcing that they would be postponing their East Coast wedding plans indefinitely, Shannon and Afsheen decided to set their official wedding date on the 4th of July with the groom’s father serving as the honored officiant. For their reimagined backyard wedding in San Jose in July, some slight changes were made to the guest list, with around 20 guests in attendance. Even though the couple may not have been able to have their big New York City wedding, their intimate ceremony and reception was still elegant and full of emotion.
As the guests sit on either side of the aisle, the bride and groom hold hands in front of a flowered arch by a pool surrounded by sunshine and lush vines, giving them plenty of privacy during the ceremony.
