Wedding photographer Alan Rogers, was awarded 19th place for photo 1944516 in the Symmetry category for the WPJA's 2016 Q4 Photography Competition.
It can be a long day for Bridesmaids. I stumbled across these two on my way to the bride who was changing into her traditional dress for the reception about to begin. The symmetry of the scene was immediately apparent to me, just perfect. They were both truly asleep and I took this photo quickly fearing they would awake at any minute, which they did not.
The WPJA contest judges presented Alan Rogers, a Victoria, Australia wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.
