Wedding photographer Massimiliano Magliacca, was awarded 13th place for photo 1970046 in the Bouquet/Garter (Action) category for the WPJA's 2016 Q4 Photography Competition.

The WPJA contest judges presented Massimiliano Magliacca, a Roma, Italy wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.

The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

  • Thank goodness for the photographer capturing the single-most lackluster bunch of bouquet catchers (or rather, non-catchers) in all of bouquet tournament history. The woman at far right is most representative of the scene. Bracing self against wall, slowly opening right palm, gazing upward at nothing in particular. Fortunately, she was able to catch one last hit on her drink. Anyway, what a funny photo. It was a moment indeed.
