The WPJA contest judges presented Samo Rovan, a Slovenia wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- He’s come to play a few tunes but she’s there just to play. But not a soul seems to be watching or listening. It’s an elegant juxtaposition of two worlds - adult and child and the disparate difference between them. The DJ, surrounded by the tools of his trade, hopes for an audience. The child, on the other hand, is her own audience. Unfortunately, it’s hard to say which of them was more entertaining. Thankfully the photograph ties them together to create something even more entertaining - a moment noticed.
