Photographer's Comment

One of the most tender of times: the bride reads a letter of pride and love from her dad. It is a quite juxtapositioning of her happiness as she looks to today and her future and her father, overcome as he reflects on the past and the love that has brought them to this moment. This was shot with a 35mm and and constant turning around from the front while waiting for such a touching moment.

Judges

  • I can understand how this touching moment got to the father of the bride.
  • A letter is read. A father's tears are shed. It's his baby, more precious than his soul. The marked difference between a bride saying “hello” to a new chapter as a dad says “goodbye” to his own is a powerful moment of grace and love.
