Wedding photographer Christophe Viseux, was awarded 4th place for photo 1627221 in the Cake Cutting category for the WPJA's 2015 Q2 Photography Contest.
- Cake accidents happen. Nice light on the moment of cleanup.
- Ouch. Oh man. What a night. I’ve never been a fan of cake smearing scenes although, admittedly, they are “must shoot” images for the client and often quite hilarious. But this one, the aftermath of a sugary onslaught, provides a story beyond “the story.” This man was apparently clobbered by a recipe seemingly designed to inflict collateral damage. One can only hope the cake tasted better in his mouth than in his eye.
The WPJA contest judges presented Christophe Viseux, a Ontario, Canada wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.
