2nd place in Architecture & Settings
The WPJA contest judges presented Fabio Azanha, a Portugal wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- Nice light and color. The bride and her father are just perfectly framed in the grand view.
- The bright yellow wall represents the sunshine on a cloudy day. The pair walking adds the nice human element—especially the shadows.
- I have been many places throughout the world but it is hard for me to imagine a storybook scene such as this. I loved this image for its pure beauty but respect the thoughtful eye that brought everything together to create a dreamy fairy tale image.
