8th place in Reception
The WPJA contest judges presented Abow Chen, a Taiwan wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- This poor guy was more adorned than the archway behind him. And check out that waiting can of “Silly Spray” because it appears he’s not decorated enough. Juxtapose the scene with the faux-like servitude of that woman at far left and you’ve finished the campy scene. The photographer’s lens choice was perfect for this moment - neither close or wide and just medium enough to juxtapose the banal viewpoint against the full-on craziness of the moment.
