6th place in Toasting/Speeches
The WPJA contest judges presented Cesc Giralt, a Barcelona, Spain wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- What a fun image. It really brings the personality of the subject to the viewer. Looking at the image makes you feel almost as though you have known these people for years, as though we could put it in our own family scrapbook and refer to them as aunts and uncles. It's more than just the obvious moment - it's also how lighting, composition and lens angle adds to the "feel good" veracity of the photo.
