3rd place in Details (Found)
The WPJA contest judges presented Aurel Virlan, a București, Romania wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

Photographer's Comment
I was in a mountain little town. During the ceremony the weather was good although the sky was covered. When I got into the old town center for a photo session the thick rain had already started. We decided to go in a sheltered place nearby. The bride's and groom's silhouettes play on the wet sidewalk inspired me to capture a few unusual photos. I shot several times walking in parallel with them, trying to keep their pace. I used 2/3 diaphragm exposure for making the couple's shadows more dramatic. ,
Judges
- The patterns and reflection of the couple make the viewer look for more in this image. Going through the take, it immediately stopped me and screamed out to look closer. The exposure is dead on and enhances the reflection.
