5th place in Rehearsal Dinner
The WPJA contest judges presented Stacey Kane, a Maine, United States wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- This slice of Americana reminiscent of Bill Owens's suburbia is a funny play on the rehearsal dinner. Several layers here add to the humor from the hotdogs on the grill, to the dogs waiting patiently to the flowered dress and blue jean clad people in the background. This photo really works in color! Fun, quirky picture. Composition drew my eye in to the pups. For dog lovers this picture is an important part of the wedding story. The eye that preserves this important part of the wedding is perhaps why families commission a photojournalist view of their wedding.
